Better countermeasures will need to be developed. This video shows multiple main battle tanks being destroyed by the little X-wing drone. It is stunning and terrible at the same time.

RIP warriors and poor conscripts on both sides.

Yep. These $500 drones are going to be able to take out $10 million tanks.

I’m confident Raytheon etc are already working on gen 3 or 4 of drone countermeasures.

Mirrored confetti to blind it and then kill it for the wired versions?

I could see video games using the clips from this video for cut scenes and ideas on weapons.

It is sadly a real video. That lancet is ridiculous and has had several upgrades from the beginning of the war.

The Orlan is the other half of why it was so successful. The Russians were able to saturate the front line, and even the rear areas, with these cheap observation drones.

If something moved, they spotted it, and they could use a Lancet against it.

what’s the solution, smaller counter drones that seek to destroy them when they come in similar to the iron dome?

soldiers carry anti drone shotguns to blast them out of the sky on their way in?

So this drone shoots something then impacts the target afterwards?

There are people here who probably think about this a lot and would give you good answers

I assume there's no one solution, it's probably a combination of everything we've seen so far. From men with shotguns, to drones fighting drones, to electronic warfare. Armor designs will change as well though. Top down attacks are probably your primary threat now.

That’s why having guns is basically an anachronism now. It’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight with all of these high tech weapons now.

For now, sure.

As all warfare, ever, has taught us, countermeasures will be developed. The drone threat of this type will be neutralized, and militaries will evolve in kind.

C'mon, breh.

My grandfather and father used to work for Hughes Aircraft in the 70s and 80s and they were finalizing development of stealth technology back then. Grandpa was working on Trident missile guidance systems in the 70s well before the NAVY officially announcement the project.

With DARPA on that wall, it's unlikely that we don't match or exceed anything that can be matched or exceeded.

Anti-Lancet measures are being developed, at taxpayer expense, to take it to the next level.

When does the BS end. Get rid of the rules, make war horrible to have less war and better behavior from those trying to lead.

The $ cost per soldier to do business increases significantly.

Anti drone systems (laser, gps spoofing, microwave, others I don't know about) are sophisticated and reliable, but expensive and have to be mounted or carried in.

Spend some time on Reddit Ukraine Russia War thread... single shot drones are effective, but watch what Ukraine bros do with quad drones... those guys have nailed it... cheap camera, cheap parts, flu that sucker into an open window

Forget aiming at a window from 50 miles and shoot a steerable missile... hover, canvas, assess, and move in

I’ve said this much but was down voted. Russia, intelligently is keeping its pricey war toys off the battlefield because of this. Why lose expensive tech/ weapons? US propaganda would be using video of destroyed Russian hardware non stop. Plus every nation is watching and it would be embarrassing if something like the Armata was shown to be use less. Don’t give any nation first hand video/intel of your new tech and how to destroy it…keep the enemy guessing
