I know it's a foregone conclusion, but just out of curiosity, has Lane been officially "let go?"

Is there room to keep him on the staff? Why do we have Soooooo many offensive coaches and relatively fewer defensive coaches. Is this normal, or is this piculiar to Les Miles' staff?

I read on another site that Lane might be staying on in some non-coaching capacity.

If he's a good recruiter, I hope we keep him on staff.

1. Not if Joe Rob stays. He would have to stay on in some administrative capacity. Don't be surpised to see something like "defensive quality control."

Hand, here is where that list proves the point of many of us who complain about Miles' set up:

USC, Oklahoma, Alabama, and OSU all have defensive head coaches. Their defenses are generally pretty solid.

LSU, Florida, Texas, and Georgia have offensive coaches. The only won with a half decent defense this season was UF and they were horrid last year.

In the end, the best thing is for the Head Coach to serve in some capacity and offset his weakness.
