My 18-month-old labradoodle just destroyed my $75 4K copy of The Lord Of The Rings blu-ray set.

Was going to rewatch it but decided to put out garbage first. Came back in to hear crunching noise. All I could do was scream “NOOO!”

Of course, she thought it was a game as I chased her around the den. (Salvaged most of it but Part One is gone for sure.) I hope it scratches her butt real good tomorrow.

Begs me to ask, just how do you punish a young dog for such antics? I so want to beat the little bitch but I’ve never hurt my dogs.

Our dog is 12 yrs old. I yell at him for getting in the trash but otherwise he sort of does what he wants at this age.

Crate time. Bad behavior gets time in his crate

Well, she’s sleeping on my lap right now. Her eyes tell me she knows something is wrong.

I love my pets too much and I am way too old (74) to turn into an Orc now.

My dog and I are very emotionally attuned. If I am mad and I even begin to raise my voice, she will apologize. I don’t really punish her. I will voice displeasure through stern lecture and try and find a training technique to help with the issue

You're fricked. Those were the best movies that came out between saving private ryan and no country for old men/there will be blood. Generational films

Punishment doesn't work on dogs unless you catch them in the act, then it sort of works.

Your dog did it because he needs more activity.

Good dog.

Do you care about taking your dog outside as much as you care about your fictional movie collection?

"Wrigley, Stop."

99.9% of the time he stops. No further action required.

I knew I was going to catch hell over this LOTR admission. I should have said it was my favorite porn disc or game copy of an LSU win over Ole Miss.

Actually, I am a movie collector with nearly 1,000 movies and watch them on a premium OPPO player. I love action movies and dogs.

Deserves it!? I daresay she does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends. I have not much hope that your labradoodle can be cured, but there is a chance of it. And she is bound up with the fate of the blu-ray set. My heart tells me that she has some part to play yet, for good or ill, before the end; and when that comes, the pity by you may rule the fate of many.

Hell, we just got back from a long walk and a 90-minute trip to the dog park. She was all played out, or so I believed.

When you ever question how to punish a pet, think to how the mother dogs and cats punish their offspring.

Looking them in the eye, raising your tone, and holding or touching whatever object relates in the punishment.

ETA: Slapping the dog's face or hind works alongside this too. However this tactic should be used more sparingly so that the dog begins distancing themselves from you or fearing you (in a bad way)
