10 years ago. LSU vs OLE MISS 2014 in Tiger Stadium

One of the most underrated games in tiger stadium history. LSU was a 2 loss team and ranked #24 and vibes were at an all time low at that point in the Miles era. The tigers had gotten beat in their own house by Mississippi state and absolutely drummed by auburn in Jordan-hare. Now they had a #3 ranked ole miss team coming in with their “landshark” defense riding high after an upset of Alabama and another win over a top 15 A&M team.
I remember being downtown at the roux house the night before and my cousin calling and saying he had 2 tickets if I wanted to go. I told him no, we suck and are going to get crushed. After getting liquored up and talking about the game all night I called him back around midnight and said frick it I’m in, what pussy would pass up a top 5 night match up in the valley?
One of the best decisions I ever made. The stadium was electric that night and we had the time of our lives. The ole miss land shark D lived up to the hype and forced 4 LSU turnover, however the tiger D played their best D of the season anchored by Jamal Adams and put the clamps on Bo Wallace and the rebel offense. With the score 7-3 LSU would go in a late 13 play 95 yard drive where they ran the ball every play until the famous play action TD pass to Logan stokes to get in the endzone. Ronald Martin would intercept bo Wallace the following drive to seal the win for the tigers.
The party at Fred’s after was also an all timer. Here’s to another night like that this Saturday
Searched forever for the pic of Adams and company leaping over the line for the big 4th down stop late in the game. If anybody can find it post it

One of my favorite games I’ve been to. Electric environment.

That was my freshman year. Still the most electric atmosphere from kickoff to 0:00 I’ve ever been to. Tiger Stadium was in rare form that night.

That was a Tiger Stadium classic.
It was so exciting that the long time season ticket holder down the row from me dropped dead of a heart attack right as the game was ending.
God rest his soul.
I guess if you could pick a way to go………

ahhhhh to be young, in school, and in the student section for that game again
simpler times. no real stress or liabilities. we didn't know how good we had it.

Was that the game Kendall Beckwith absolutely stuffed a 3&1 or 4th&1? I remember watching and it looked like the ball carrier was going to make it and then Beckwith stepped in, and like hitting a wall the ball carrier's momentum immediately stopped and they went backward. Beckwith was stout. It's a shame injuries shortened his NFL career.

I just watched the whole 4th quarter of that game the other night. I was there as well. Section 214.
The stadium was rocking, but if you look at the crowd, it was far from a sellout. There is empty seats throughout the game.
It was one of those frustrating Les Miles games where you felt like the defense did everything it could and somehow Les' inability to move the ball would squander us at the end.
Jamal Adams balled out. I still can't believe Ole Miss' last sequence of plays.
Our corners played incredible. Wallace was under pressure all night and out DBs lived up to DBU.
I think it was Beckwith who made a crucial 3rd down stop that forced the 4th down where Jamal Adams eventually made the stop.
Then we had to sweat out a drive that easily could have resulted in a FG, but Bo Wallace made a boneheaded play to throw a late pic.
Storming the field was weird, but fun. I thought it may be the only time I ever do it in my lifetime.
I didn't know Bama 2022 would happen 8 years latter.
A great night in Tiger Stadium and an ugly win. A classic Les Miles victory from the jaws of defeat.

One of the best games I have ever attended as an LSU fan. Kendall Beckwith was incredible that night.

I was in the nosebleeds for this game and I couldn't hear myself thinking it was that loud. This game and 2019 Florida are both up there for loudest games I've attended. For context, I'm only 26.

Vaunted land shark defense that Les ran the ball like a dozen straight plays. Pass for the TD.
