What do yall use and how do yall use them? Pour a little in a scrape? Hang wicks while you hunt? Ever had a buck, without a doubt, come in because of the scent?
I’ve used them every year I’ve hunted since I was a teenager and I can’t say I’ve ever had it work. I’ve tried tinks, code blue, raw frozen scents, evercalm vs1, and some others. Starting to think it’s a waste of money, but open to suggestions if anybody has a scent they swear by.

Years ago, right before opening day, I bought two scent pads that strapped on your foot. Dad asked what they were, I explained, then gave him one. He poured tinks69 on it and walked to his stand. Around 8 am, a nice buck was walking his exact path to the stand and dad shot him.

I’ve never seen it definitively work, there’s something about the real thing they just can’t bottle. I am guilty of grabbing some every few years, I figure it may stop them long enough crossing a lane, which is useful.

I’ll put it in some scrapes and on some trails if I know I’ll be hunting there for a few days. According to the cameras the bucks definitely check it out. You still have to get lucky and him come out while you’re there

Tinks 69 def works during rut with wicks in your hunting area. Have had bucks walk right in multiple times.

Tinks and code blue or red.
I pull drags or I will put a wick or rolled up paper towel doused in it a couple hundred yards up wind/crosswind of me. Make a scrape and piss in it and put doe P in it.
I have seen deer follow it and deer lock up and come straight to it to investigate as well as make a scrape right by it.
I have also seen them completely ignore it when I know they could smell it.
I am probably 1000s$ in the hole on purchasing it over the last 30-40yrs but will keep buying it
It’s definitely not majic and will not pull every deer on your property to it like they want you to believe.

When someone at camp kills a buck, ask for a tarsal gland. Tie a string to it and walk to stand. Hang in bush in sight of stand.

If you dilute the Tinks in budweiser at 1:5 your piss will be chemically indistinguishable from deer for 48 hrs. Can just make your own scrape and piss in it. Trust me.

Growing up in northern Michigan we always hung a shot bucks gear on a branch because it was good luck. Lol

I’ve given up on scents years ago cause I’ve never had a definitive response from a buck.
One less thing I have to worry about while hunting now.

100%. Killed a 6pt 2 yrs ago that otherwise wasnt coming in during daylight. He was looking all around for her. Have had them follow me to the stand when dragging. Then find it with their nose.
The does and small bucks smelling it is more curiosity and can spook them sometimes

This is what I’ve been thinking also. However, this morning I ordered $80 worth of raw frozen scents and some tinks scent drags. I know that if I go to Missouri without it, I’ll wish I brought it. I don’t really think it works, but it helps my confidence, which keeps me in the stand longer lol

I've tried a bunch of brands. After having some of it spook deer I stopped using it. I just try to NOT introduce any new smells/ signs of my presence these days and hunt natural sign.
