Sherburne WMA Lottery Duck Hunt

Any ever hunted this area for the Sherburne WMA Lottery Duck Hunt? I won this year and got assigned this area. Any tips for this plot?
I am assuming the big water on the edges are deep ditches and not walkable (no boats allowed), but looking for any tips on decent spots in this area (see area marked on image).

Is that unit 2? If so you should be good. Area used to be great 10-15 years ago but has fallen off massively. Just bring some brush and a stool and make the blind in the middle.

might want to bring hip boots and a walking staff as well...

Hunted the south farm on a lottery win in 2020. Think it was early January and we actually worked some mallards that morning near that unit. They never committed and we didn't kill anything but it was a good time. Definitely hard to hide. I would bring some sort of panel to cover you up 360 and be sure it is grassed up well. Waders are not a bad idea, and definitely bring minimal gear. I wouldn't lug more than 2 dozen decoys, one box of shells, my gun and the blind with something to sit on. If you have a sled, use it. Have fun and I hope you can put some birds on the strap.

If you got chosen later in the season, there will probably already be a makeshift blind in the middle somewhere...hunt there and throw a little extra brush on it. We always wore waders. Killed some good birds out there years ago...mallards, greys, teals, and1 speck once.

I got awarded 1/4/25. I heard late season was better. Went dates around late Dec/early Jan in hopes of a lucky cold front coming through. Thanks every1 for the tips!

Lots of teal were taken in late January’24 in that area.

If you have time, go out there Friday morning and hop in observation tower and see the areas they are using in the unit.
