Lhsaa hearing today

Zwolle and Pleasant Hill have their recruiting hearing today. 3 players from Zwolle have for some reason enrolled at P Hill. Nothing will probably come of this the P Hill principal is one of the puppets on the executive comm. and King Bonine is good friends with the P Hill coach he use to workout the King's kids. If Karen Hoyt has anything to do with this it will be all messed like a Biden press conference, after some of her comments at the recent proposal meeting for the January convention I wonder if she knows what is going on in Louisiana high school athletics. Hopefully someone with morals and ethics on this comm. will step up and do the right thing.

Bumping this because this board has pointed out some shady dealings in athletics in Sabine Parish in the past.
Primarily because there are seven small high schools in the parish, but Many High is the biggest, and the transfer policies within the parish allow a small 2A school access to football talent far outside their attendance zone.
Well it appears the politics and shenanigans extend beyond football into boys and girls basketball.
It appears several new Pleasant Hill players recently transferred from Zwolle, and are now claiming It was due to hazing at Zwolle. Zwolle is circling the wagons. They are privately dismissing the allegations. Hinting they are false, and orchestrated by Pleasant Hill.

Asking just because I don't know and am curious, where does Zwille get the players? Or is it a system thing? Hasnt Zwolle has been crushing folks in boys BB since at least the late 80s/early 90s? How do they maintain being so strong so consistently? Something in the water? Perhaps recruiting?

I honestly don’t know, except they have the numbers for a mid-sized 1A school, but because they don’t play football, they are in Class B. However, they aren’t alone. There’s other Class B basketball schools with similar enrollment.
Plus, there’s a lot of serious basketball played in the rural areas in that part of the state. It’s probably a community and cultural emphasis that’s passed down generation to generation.
Similar to how small schools like Kentwood, Oak Grove, Haynesville, South Plaquemines, etc seem to have good football teams year after year, generation after generation.

You pretty much nailed it. It is one of those places where the tradition and community put the emphasis on basketball. They also do not have football, so that is all they have. To be fair, Pleasant Hill and the other schools in that parish (except Many) are the same way.
They haven't really ever recruited to my knowledge (unlike the current coach at Pleasant Hill).
Knowing people from both towns, I am willing to bet that the Zwolle people have it right. It does look awfully suspicious that they only release these allegations on the day that the kids were ruled ineligible by the LHSAA. Bradley McClaren has been the coach for over 20 years and principal for at least 10. Why has nothing like this ever come out before?

You nailed it. These kids grow up with a goal and expectation. The community reinforces it. It’s the culture.
For it to work generationally through coach after coach it needs to be in a small community/bubble.

Yep that is definitely being orchestrated. If anyone goes back over the years and cares about this, you can see the roots of this were planted by Carlisle's father Buster who coached at Minden before going to Texas. The wysinger kids grandfather is Bruce Williams played at Florien 8th all time leading scorer in the in boys high school. He played on an aau team back in the day for Buster. So this is being done through connections made over 40 years ago. As far as the allegations made aganist the boys coach who is also the principal that is hard to believe. He took over the program and boys basketball program from Chad Crow who cleaned up the place and has kept it clean and won the right way with Zwolle kids. Sounds to me that Carlisle is really desparate and the sad thing is he can win state in c with the kids he has. I think he has everyone coming back .and the jr. high was loaded. The man is a good coach, but he refuses to build he has to go and get someone elses talent. There was an article on yahoo about the greatest aau no one ever heard of coached by Buster Carlisle alot of talent and connections on that team. As i have stated before the Lhsaa has backed Carlisle before, this is unreal though if he gets away with this everyone should just go and get who they want. Carlisle can run neck and neck with Livingston at Newman as far as recruiting. They are both what is wrong with high school athletics today.

all of sabine and vernon is insane with the amount of small schools. just need to consolidate and dont get me started on Many. access to the same amount of athletes as Sulphur, Barbe, and other big 5a schools have access too. frick many, cheating mother frickers.

yep sabine and vernon are like this. got friends who sons play basketball up there and in middle school them boys start practice in aug, start playing in late aug and play until spring through lhsaa playoffs then go play aau. they play more games then even the most crazy travel ball people
and yea its a culture. similar to baseball at Barbe, Sam Houston and now West Monroe. 100% culture, they set goals at very young ages and get after it.

That day is coming if financially they can’t make it work with our rural population declining… outside of a few places Class C’s days are numbered
Many might be falling back to being average in football with the microscope on them for where they get their kids
