Corner play has been much better this year.

It’s going overlooked because of how bad the safety play has been, but corners have taken a nice step up from last year. Good job fellas.

The defense this year would’ve made the team last year a playoff team which just shows how elite were Jayden and co

Meh still a bunch of 3 star guys at best. None of these cats are future nfl corners.

I don't mind seeing some of the younger guys like Stamps and Woodland taking some lumps and they have but yes there is better play at corner but we are going to need alot more improvement to beat teams like Ole Miss.

I agree. Coverage has generally been better than last year. Last year, we had multiple coverage busts in each game. Last year we had multiple games where the entire defense seemed completely disoriented and lost. I haven't seen that this year. There's still lots of room for improvement, but the individual units seem much better than last year.

Alexander has the potential to be, especially because of his frame. And he’s shown flashes when healthy. He just has to stay on the field.
Woodland maybe can be with time. He’s a true freshman who wouldn’t be playing yet in an ideal scenario.

I wonder why? When you're allowed to maul WRs without looking for the ball the entire game I guess anyone would look all-world in coverage. No, these were not ticky tack PI's missed in the game. They were about as blatant as it gets that cost LSU points on several drives. One that sticks out in mind was LSU's failed 4th down where that DB killed the WR on the back shoulder throw.

The refs were letting UCLA maul our guys. Nearly every pass play had blatant PI on it. Then you watch Swinson, and the oline were getting to bear hug him on nearly every play.

Corners are better in coverage this year, but scheme has them playing way to deep at the snap and giving up easy completions.

UCLA had excellent coverage in several plays without pi.
Swinson was held almost every time. Without question.

EXACTLY!!
UCLA corners were latching on to our receivers shoulder pads the entire coverage . I mean grabbing the shirt on the shoulder pad and holding while they were running down the sideline.
Refs could have thrown a flag every play .
It was crazy
