Here are just some of the other candidates that were being considered at the time:

Dave Aranda
Mel Tucker
Jimbo Fisher
Billy Napier
Hugh Freeze
Lane Kiffin - arguably the ONLY one seeing some success

Give me CBK any day. Is this team perfect? Heck no…far from it. But they are improving each week. Give them a chance and quit with the negative bias towards CBK.

No matter what he does he can’t win. Doesn’t say anything - “too stoic” and “no energy on the sidelines “. Coaches and holds players accountable- “too hard on his players”, “throwing them under the bus”. Same fools slobber all over coaches like Saban or Meyer when they did similar things so STFU

This is the dumbest argument from the Kelly ball lickers.

He said give him 3 years. He has regressed.

At the end of the day our record has been greatly improved from the end of the Ed Orgeron era, and we are currently killing it in recruiting. There is going to be more pain this year. Embrace it, savor the wins that we steal and look forward to the future. We aren’t going to be replacing him with a home run hire this year considering the field of candidates available, and it would be expensive to get rid of him when we have a bright future with him anyway

While it’s true he is accountable for not being able to run and shitty defense.

That is exactly what what I think when I see that. There are LSU fans on here who did not like him to begin with and look for anything to put the hate on.

I do have some criticisms of my own of BK that I have formulated since he came but I do not see anyone out there that causes me to think we need to go get them at any cost.

How dare we question a man making 10 million a year about his decision making and where this program stands in his third year. The audacity!!!

That’s why I say we should have given O one more year. Either he turns it around (like he did after a bad 2017) or there are better hires next cycle.

But I still think Aranda is a great coach despite periodic coverage brain farts like the ends of Bama 2019 and last night.

Is this team closer now than they were in 2022 to competing for championships?

The answer is no.

He is only 1/3 of the way into his 3rd year. Why not wait until he completes the year before being a total arse??

Get off your high fricking horse with the 3 years bullshite. Judge him doesn’t mean fire him because you don’t like him. I sincerely hope you never obtain a management position.

He hasn’t regressed though.

This is who he is. He just had JD. Even in 2022 when JD wasn’t as reliable as a passer, he could still take over games.

Anyone can win a few games with a guy like Jayden Daniels at QB.

Our defense was piss poor last season and if anything it’s slightly less piss poor this year.

Nuss is a good QB, too. He’s just not JD good. Therefore BK is exposed. He was still the best hire at the time, but he was a low risk low reward guy. Woody made the right move, but we will be sitting on 8/9 wins most seasons and a first round playoff exit every now and then.

This season we may not win another SEC game outside of Vandy. Florida might even beat us.

He is what he is. An above average, but not great coach.

You gave him too much money in a guaranteed contract … to an older guy who may not have the same fire in the belly to perform . That is the crux of the matter and it is on Woodward . Same guy that gave Jimbo the ridiculous contract .

name a great coach LSU can get

And don’t forget about that big buyout and all the money that’s going to be left over to pay that great coach

Hey genius, I specifically said Woodward made the right hire. I know that LSU is stuck with BK til at least 2030. We can’t get anyone else, this is it.

That’s why Woody absolutely needed to make sure he got a low risk hire. The problem with BK is he’s low reward.

He will not win a championship at LSU. I don’t even see how he wins 8 games this year.

It would be nice to see some over-achieving occasionally.....
His teams have been so inconsistent, it's a mystery every week.

Dave Aranda

Some people actually wanted him as our HC. Laughable. Overall losing record,13-25 outside of one good year and looking at another losing season. He’s just not head coach material
