10 team, 1/2 PPR
2 RB
2 WR
1 Flex

Record: 0-2

Benched Kamara last week in favor of Henry, Taylor and Mason.

I lost Kupp so I’m targeting Nabers for Jordan Mason.

Current WRs:
Mcclaurin
Pickens
Jameson Williams
Higgins
K. Coleman
Kupp (INJ)

RBs:
Taylor
Henry
Kamara
Mason
Dowdle
Chubb (IR)

Should I hang onto my RBs for the upcoming bye weeks and roll with a couple WR2? Is there another WR1 to target aside from Malik?

Um yea I guess if someone would actually give you Nabers for Mason, by all means, do that.

I'm in a 12 team 1/2 PPR and you and I have very similar teams. I have Taylor, K. Williams, Kamara, and Mason. The most traction I've been able to get in negotiations is Tee Higgins from the CMC owner. Seems like non-CMC owners are believing the week 6 return.

I think people would be fools to expect CMC back any sooner than week 10 and, even then, it's no guarantee he returns to form. Nabers might be shooting too high so you're really going to be limited to only the WRs on the CMC-owner's roster.

You could pivot and try to trade one of your other backs for a higher-end WR and view it as Mason bridging the gap until Kupp's return.

Absolutely. The idiots in my work league let me get Mason on FAAB and then I traded Etienne to the CMC owner. Now I have the starting SF back AND the Jets starting RB with both Hall and Allen. People just don't think ahead in this shite.

Are we sure about that?

Nabers is a stud. He’s also relying on Daniel Jones. There’s a path to RB1 for Jordan Mason and I’m not sure that exist for Nabers, and it’s looking like RB will be the much more valuable position this season if for nothing else than scarcity.

Do you want the focal point of the Giants offense or the Niners offense, to put it in simpler terms

Well for one, it's already being reported that CMC's own team is estimating at least 6 weeks from IR date. That puts him at week 8 or 9. SF has a bye week 9.

Secondly, his injury requires 2-3 months of rest. And by rest, I mean in a boot and near immobilization. No working out, no running, etc. Then once he's feeling healthy again, he's obviously got to get back up to speed and in game shape.

^ that timeline and info comes from the head ortho surgeon of an SEC football program. Obviously he has not seen CMC's scans so there is some margin for error there. However, he's seen that injury hundreds of times so I'm willing to bet on that.

Also you have to look at their record at the time(s) that they're looking to bring him back. If they're sitting 5-1 or whatever, why in the world wouldn't they just wait and let him not only get healthy but also to ramp up to go on the playoff stretch run? The other caveat in this is Mason and whether or not he stays healthy.

Finally was able to flip Mason. Traded the CMC owner Mason for Tee straight up. Couldn't get anything done with other owners in the league. Not 100% sure how I feel about it, but I absolutely had to get a WR and I still have 3 RB1s.

Pre-trade WR:

Amari, Pickens, BTJ, Worthy

Man, I’m keeping Mason rather than taking these trades y’all are posting

4+ more weeks of top 10 RB production is worth more to me than a low end WR 2/flex.

Don’t blame you one bit. I got burned last week by benching Kamara and watched my WRs put up a combined 5.80. I’d rather trade one of my RBs than watch one drop a 40 piece on the bench

Jordan Mason has 2 targets in 2 games (including 1 game with negative game script), it’s gonna be hard for him to be the RB1 with pretty much zero passing game work.

I want the guy who projects to be a starter during the fantasy playoffs. Even if you think CMC is 50% likely to be out for the season, which is wildly optimistic for a Mason owner at this point imo, you would need there to be a massive delta between Mason and Nabez as fantasy assets for a Mason > Nabez take to make sense.

So much at play here.

Not being a Masonite or anything, but I could see a scenario Cmac comes back and even one where he gets shutdown for the season. Possibly depending upon how their season goes?

quote:

“It’s a difficult injury to have as a patient,” said Dr. Timothy Gibson, the medical director at MemorialCare Joint Replacement Center in Orange County. “And it’s a difficult injury to treat as a physician because everybody wants to know when it’s going to be better, but nobody knows. We just don’t know. If

quote:

After missing a loss at Minnesota on Sunday, McCaffrey must miss at least three more games before he can be activated from IR. However, given the nature of the injury, along with the time required for potential treatments to become effective, Gibson wouldn’t be surprised if he misses additional games.

quote:

“I think a prediction beyond four weeks is not unreasonable,” said Gibson, who is based at MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley.

The term used for more severe cases of Achilles tendinitis, which involves inflammation, is tendinopathy, which is marked by degeneration that often includes small tears in the fibers in the middle of the tendon. Those with tendinopathy have increased odds of suffering a torn Achilles, an injury Shanahan seemed to reference last week when explaining why it was ultimately an easy decision to not play McCaffrey in a season-opening win against the Jets on Sept. 9.

quote:

However, tendinopathy typically isn’t chronic and rest can allow scar tissue to form where micro tears existed. The length of that healing process can vary.

“It’s just one of those conditions where you go, ‘Oh, here we go,’ ” Gibson said. “I mean, in a year, he’ll be better. But whether it’s six weeks or 12 weeks, I don’t know. I can tell you if he doesn’t injure it further, in a year, he should be better. He should be 100%. But on the short end of this timeframe, it’s an estimate.”

quote:

Gibson said it’s logical to think that McCaffrey has at least explored other treatments that could accelerate healing. That includes platelet-rich plasma injections in which blood is spun after being taken from the arm to separate red blood cells from plasma and platelets. Gibson said McCaffrey would probably be sidelined “at least six weeks” if he had a PPR injection to ensure he didn’t have an inflammatory response.

Other options include stem-cell treatment, a “next step” beyond a PRP injection, and extracorporeal shockwave therapy, which can regenerate tissue.

“There are interventions, but it just has to go through a healing process of its own and become more mature again,” Gibson said. “Go through a process of restoring to a normal tendon. You just have to watch and wait. There’s no surgery that’s going to change it.”

I guess as long as SF is in the playoff mix they would definitely want him back this season.

Seems like it would be best to have both Mason and CMC.

That's my thing. I'm not sure I'd be ready to get rid of Kupp that may be back in a few weeks for someone that may not come back at all without the handcuff.

But, I also understand the allure of being in a position to add CMC to your roster for the playoffs.

I’m thinking about trying in a ten team keeper

I have Mason, saquon, jk dobbins, k Williams, charbonet, Pacheco

I’ve got Jefferson Harrison and tank dell as my wrs

Thinking about trying to send Mason to the cmc owner with tank dell for Nabers.
