Been reading that officials at game were pro LSU and that SC was robbed. Any thing to this?

There were several bad or missed calls. They have a very legitimate complaint on the OPI. The blind side block on Nuss was technically the correct call, but not one that most people like. It was not egregious, like some of the ones that get called (like the one on Borrow in the 2018 Fiesta Bowl).

On the other side, South Carolina’s punt block should have been a penalty under the letter of the rule as well.

If the shoe were on the other foot, this place would be melting down today.

The officiating was better than your thread titles.

Two other instances that confused me

1.) QB clearly fumbling the ball and Perkins picked it up. BK had to push to get the review.

2.) The Lacy catch and pushed out of bounds. The ref’s hand signal was that the ball was caught out of bounds, not signaled as juggling the ball.

I know they are small and ended up going our way, but just more inconsistency by the refs

These was also a blatant hold on our DE on one of their big runs in 1st qtr. And I think the first PI on us was questionable. But it all evens out. I didn’t see any advantage either way.

There were lots of bad calls (and more importantly in this case no calls) made by the officials. Against both teams.

A handful of bad calls made against LSU ended up getting corrected. That’s why USC is whining. The officials were not great at all. More missed calls than calls that were made and poor. Ball spots as well.

Neither team should be happy about the officiating. But we got more breaks due to the benefit of replay.

The refs were so bad at identifying the players, it was incredibly hard to see if the calls were correct.

For example, on the critical OPI, they attributed it to a player that wasn't on the field. So, the ESPN/ABC crew could never really showed us what the call was. It was already questionable, but the TV coverage didn't help.

OTOH, both of the calls that took away their pick-sixes were correct: clearly a horsecollar and blind-side block.

everyone on our side admits that the refs made some bad calls that went LSU'S way. but the opposite is also true. like another poster noted, 2 of the big calls vs SC were correct. the OPI, may have been bad, but i never saw a replay. so I can't say. There were a lot of mistakes by the ref and by both teams. It was an ugly game.

It's over.

You don’t think if we had two pick 6’s called back and an OPI eliminate a 50+ yard play in a game we lost by 3 points, then it would result in rant meltdown? How long have you been around?

Mistakes are made every game by the officials at every level. It’s not like they cover who they want to win in their pregame meeting.

Multiple SEC coaches are reporting referees to the league. When will leagues/commissioners realize that, until officials are held accountable/fired, this epidemic will continue to get worse, not better!!??
