I'm sick of the whole experience thing. The best man should play. JJ should start.. God forbid he gets injured I'll take RS (a guy who's played QB all his life) over a guy who didn't start playing the QB position till his junior year of HS and showed absolutely no signs of progress.
This post is the truf.

I have to agree. I believe that JL got thrown into the fire before he was ready. The pressure must have been nearly unbearable and the fans expected a senior level performance. Shame on us! I wish the best for him whether he stays or goes. He did an admirable job, better than any of us could have done. I only hope that what we did to him doesn't ruin him for the future.

With being said, good luck to him and all the other quarterbacks going into spring practice and may the best QB win.

He did not say that Jarett Lee was transfering!!!! All he said was that he's heard there is talk of Lee transfering!!!! Read it again.

There is talk that Jarrett Lee will be transferring to a 1-AA school, most likely SFA or McNeese.

DD is not reporting that Lee is transfering, only that there is "talk." In other words, your guess is as good as his.
DD reporting that there is talk that Lee is transferring, is the same as me posting it on this board. It means absolutely nothing.

hatch will be a serviceable backup.

if we have to play hatch next year, we're fricked...hatch is probably a good guy, but he's not an sec qb.

I realize RS is coming in, but we can't sit here and think he would be an effective passing QB on day 1.

But JJ & JL were suppose to be this year?

I'm glad some of y'all have learned from this year. I agree with you we need depth, look at how JJ was getting hit against GT, you know that's only going to be harder hits more often against SEC teams.

I said it the day of the game, whatever Lee wants to do and makes him most happy in the long & short run. It's all on on him, good luck to whatever he decides.

And obviously the fans have a little say, if earlier reports of JL taking the bad play REALLY bad, you don't think the constant booing by the fans didn't aid in that?

Like I said, I'd like him to say, we went through 3 this year due to injuries. Good luck to Jarrett Lee next year, whether he is still a Tiger or decides to go somewhere else.

I hope he stays - just like Matt Flynn did - how do you guys think Flynn would have done had he started his freshman year? Probably not nearly as good as he did in the peach bowl.

If he does transfer, I hope he goes to a really good academic institution where he can at least get a degree.

Heal his psyche? His psyche is probably what impressed me most. That the kid could throw 16 interceptions and not hang himself much less keep his head up and get back in there and keep slingin it is nothing short of amazing. He was very much not ready to be the starter but did it, albeit not very well, but did it without hesitation and without blaming anyone else for the mistakes. He took the heat.

In a year or two I think he could be playing very good football. He may need to go somewhere else to do that?

JL will not transfer. I think his dad addressed that issue in an interview.

You guys are knuckle heads. A few more injuries and QB depth will be "Skeletal" once again, as it was this year. JL does not need to change schools. He will be a VERY GOOD quarterback, in time, just as Matt Flynn.

If you dont envision JJ getting hurt and missing a game or two, think again. He is a runner as well as passer, and will get knicked up. I really like Shep, with his ability and as a person. But, he wont be ready in a spring and a half.

Simply, JL is very necessary for the success of LSU now, and in the future. I believe in this kid.

he needs to. doesnt really fit in anywhere on our roster. unless he is content with three more years of backup duty

If this is indeed true, then I wish JL the best of luck wherever he decides to go.

I know there's a decent possibility of JJ getting hurt, but the experience that Lee has is throwing INT's, bad decision making, no support or confidence from his teammates and throwing pick six's.
I wish him well.

I hope Lee stays,

JJ has had it made since he took over, he came in an Ole Miss game, did basically nothing and was the hero, he started against pathetic Arky and lost

then he had a month to prepare for one team and played great

he is the hero by tiger fans and avoided having to play against the meat of our schedule which lee had to do, now lee has taken his bumps and everybody hates him

its the mistake free ball that he played that has everybody impressed.

we lost the ARK game bc our defense didnt make a single stop in the second half, not bc of JJ.

JL on his own lost us two games.

Do you really think that JJ's "mistake free" ball came instantly because of his talent? I would suggest to you that after every game this year, Crowton, JJ, and JL sat in the film room and reviewed all of JL's rookie mistakes. To JJ's credit, he did pay attention. But, JL was JJ's greatest teacher this year. Rarely does a young quarterback get to sit back and see the mistakes that he would have made, as JJ saw.

Also, JJ is a mobile guy. JL is not a mobile quarterback, so the defenses were more aggressive because they did not fear JL's running ability and knew he green in the passing game.

We absolutely need JL to stay. He has done alot of teaching, at his own expense.

I heard he was going to Northwestern State in the crapper at halftime of the Peach Bowl. That is how rumors get started (in the crapper that is).
