Tankless hot water system - gas. The igniter is electric. Could I go upstairs in my attic and plug an extension cord from the igniter to my generator for hot water this morning? Yes. But I have enough cords already ran through my house as it is right now.
Cold shower it is. I've heard it's actually better for you anyways. At least that is what I am telling myself.

shouldn't be a problem. you could probably ignite it manually though

Why would you get an electric water heater?

It's gas. However, the igniter is electric. At least that is my understanding.

Autobahn was congested this morning. Was only able to average 90 mph to work.

As well as the controller/thermostat. I’m not sure of a way to make it work with our power. We have one and had to run an extension cord to the attic to get it working after Laura and Delta.

This makes sense.

I don't get the sense that I will be without power for too long, and for the time that I am, I can deal with this inconvenience.

Some counties use solar water tank, rendering hot water with or without electricity.

Took cold showers after Gustav. Never got used to it. Like that shock when you jump into a cold pool but didn't go away.
