Long Beach, CA short work trip

Looking for recommendations on how to spend 4 days (2 full days, 2 afternoons free) in Long Beach. Heading there for a work conference with the wife. Making a vacation out of it since we've never been. We are early 30s and into breweries, sight-seeing, sports, etc.
I already have tickets for the Angels/White Sox game on Monday (yea I know they both suck) but this would be my first MLB game.
Was thinking use another day to hit different coastal towns south of long beach (Huntington, Newport, down to Laguna beach).
Any suggestions for bars, food, nightlife, things to do?

It would be hard to pick a worse matchup for your first MLB game
Since you like breweries, go to Monkish, Bottle Logic, and Green Cheek. All in Anaheim. It will make the game more tolerable.

I've been to Long Beach a few times for work, and most recently three weeks ago. Honestly, it kind of sucks
I don't really care to be there, but I've had to learn to find shite to do. Few ideas:
- Shoreline is a great path for running/walking.
- Waterfront is a fun area to hang out. A lot of bar/dining options with outdoor seating. Parkers' Lighthouse and Queensview Steakhouse are very solid spots w/ beautiful water views.
- Ordinarie Tavern is worth a visit. Super lively restaurant with a great cocktail menu. Speaking of cocktails, someone pouring my beer at Monkish told me to hit Baby Gee. Very cool cocktail bar, and way more local.
- Good segue into breweries... Flying into LAX (United flyer since I live in Chicago / fly out of ORD), my route is to hit Monkish in Torrance on my way to Long Beach. However, looks like you have tickets to Angels / White Sox (brutal), so going to echo someone and say you may as well hit Monkish in Anaheim, Bottle Logic, and Green Cheek. All three are pretty heavily known, so I'm going to toss in a vote for Everywhere, which is closer to Angels Stadium than any of the aforementioned. They are quickly gaining steam in California as one of the better breweries. Fantastic run of Hazy IPAs if that's your thing.

I go to Long Beach quarterly. Usually get an Airbnb in Belmont shore. Second street has tons of good food and bars
Huntington or Newport Beach are the closest nicest beaches from there imo. About a 30 minute drive
Generally do things in Long Beach or south.
Long Beach has a pretty good aquarium if that interests you.
Our son is with us when we go and we’ll usually hit the sandbox vr in Cerritos it’s really fun. Also about a 30 minute drive from LBC
If your a golfer trump national or pelican hill are great courses
If you don’t have flights yet I’d strongly recommend flying into lgb to avoid lax. If you fly into lgb the hangar is a pretty good food hall nearby with lots of options

Aquarium of the Pacific has always been nice, Queen Mary, Shoreline Village, take the Catalina Express for a day on Catalina Island, Pike Outlets.

I haven't been to Long Beach other than to fly in to go to Anaheim.
But the Long Beach airport is one of the coolest ones I've been to. I only flew in there, not out of there though. And only once, in January.

Eat at Duke's in Huntington Beach.
Take the ferry to Catalina Island.

If you fly into LAX, go to the El Segundo Brewing Company. It's like 10 minutes from LAX and is awesome.
When in lived in El Segundo, I would go 2-3 days a week.

Thank y’all all for the suggestions.
It’s not the first place I would pick to go visit, but gonna try to make the most of it while I’m there for work.
Plenty enough to work with on this list

Dukes is great. Sandy’s underneath Dukes is a great place to grab a drink and people watch.
