CNN link. For those Ukraine bros who would instantly ignore if this was gasp, a Fox News article or a similar news agency.

quote:

Two and half years of Russia’s grinding offensive have decimated many Ukrainian units. Reinforcements are few and far between, leaving some soldiers exhausted and demoralized.

The situation is particularly dire among infantry units near Pokrovsk and elsewhere on the eastern front line, where Ukraine is struggling to stop Russia’s creeping advances. CNN spoke to six commanders and officers who are or were until recently fighting or supervising units in the area. All six said desertion and insubordination are becoming a widespread problem, especially among newly recruited soldiers.

quote:

“They go to the positions once and if they survive, they never return. They either leave their positions, refuse to go into battle, or try to find a way to leave the army,” he added.

quote:

In just the first four months of 2024, prosecutors launched criminal proceedings against almost 19,000 soldiers who either abandoned their posts or deserted, according to the Ukrainian parliament.

quote:

This approach became so common that Ukraine changed the law to decriminalize desertion and absence without leave, if committed for the first time.

What a complete and total mess. I actually feel bad for them.

Of course you should feel bad for them. It’s not their fault they are being used as neocon chess pieces

Sadly, the phrase

reliable news
is an oxymoron these days...

So few people understand what "decimated" means. I think it's a good bit worse than decimated.

The Kursk offensive is a Hail Mary, and will soon burn out. Its the Ukraine’s last ditch play.

Sounds a lot like the Afghani army. I'd expect them to also fold like a cheap lawn chair as soon as the US pulls out support/money.

Are the Ukraine soldiers not getting the letters of support from the OT Seal Team?

You know things are going really really bad if that's what CNN is reporting.

I've always felt bad for Ukraine. I don't give a shite about funding them for something they will not win.

Fake news. Reddit told me they were just kicking back droning Russians with grenades.

who remembers when CNN thought a handful of tanks were going to blitz their way through flatland and reconquer Crimea.

these morons and their retarded listeners scoffed at the idea of Russia building a fortified anti armor defensive line.

all the same generals and think tank mouth pieces who were the reason the GWOT was a disaster were egging on the Ukrainians. they even managed to gaslight people into thinking a handful of F-16 fighters are going to shoot down Russian 3rd and 4th generation fighters like fish in a barrel.

billions of our tax dollars burned for nothing. member the 300 billion Russian assets? instead of just using those to fund the Ukraine war they are going to confiscate it to payback the MIC who the government still owes money to.

as much as I like to rag on clown puppet Zelensky, you have to feel bad for the guy. neocons fed him a whole bunch of bullshite, even dangling NATO membership. Ukrainians really believed in the American dream. sad that everyone who tried to warn them about Vietnam, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Afghanistan and now Ukraine were labled Putin assets.

Victoria Noodleman has a cushy job teaching her bullshite foreign policy at Columbia. Antony Blinken, Llloyd Austin, Jake Sullivan are all going to get a golden parachute after the destruction of Ukraine. Ukraine will lose all the Donbas, Crimea and maybe even Odessa after all is said and done. question here is who are the real Kremlin agents? who sold out Ukraine?

In the last 2 years 550,000 draft eligible men left Ukraine and are in other countries. Some are in the US. Those guys don’t want to fight or take the place of the ones fighting. Some of the guys fighting since the start are likely exhausted.

Why would they desert when they are kicking Putins arse (so I've been told). Another fricked up war created by career politician.
