Brian Kelly chewed Ramos out for the blocked kick right before halftime. But the reality is, if we had just spiked the ball immediately he wouldn’t have had to rush the kick. Bad game management by Kelly and he chews out Ramos. it seems clearer every day that he can’t handle the pressure of LSU.

This board:

“Kelly seems disinterested and doesn’t know what he’s doing”

Also this board:

“Kelly shouldn’t be yelling at players!”

I don’t know how some of you handled Nick saban as coach since we have such a sensitive fanbase

Putting the offense back on the field with the ref winding the clock at 3 couldve been dicey. Expect your veteran kicker to have the kick lined up and ready to start once the ref starts winding the clock, just like kelly told the players before they ran on the field

I’ve always had the same stance on Kelly being a mediocre coach. But clearly you missed the point. Chewing out players because you mismanaged the clock is clown behavior. I have no problem with chewing out players for boneheaded mistakes. Just take a little time and really think before you respond

Rushing a field goal kick with a 3 second running clock is terrible game management. You line the QB under center and spike it. You will still have 1-2 seconds left. These are college athletes, they can handle it. Rushing a kick is much harder than spiking a ball.

Ramos was a victim of circumstance, Kelly was actually mad at the whole team but took it out on the kicker

You had 3 seconds. You spike the ball. Never rush a kicker. Kelly knew he messed up and needed to give blame. He looks silly every game and it’s getting worse.

Maybe the pressure leads to an Urban early retirement and LSU can move on.

I think Kelly yelled at Ramos as he (Kelly) had just been out on the field telling players what he wanted done and the players didn’t get it done with the kick - not once, but twice. Kelly was upset at the failure and held Ramos accountable for it.

That is not why he chewed him out. He chewed him out because once he got set he started his process over again because he didn't understand that the clock was going to be starting right on the whistle. He was not ready and that was what Kelly was mad about because he got mad at Roy and Todd for snapping the ball. But if they hadn't he wouldn't have gotten the kick off.

That is situational awareness. The decision to kick the ball there was not the wrong one because if he elected to spike it there is always the possibility that the clock runs out, and because of the delay with the review there was plenty of time for everyone to be set and ready to kick the ball. I am not saying I blame Ramos but it is Kelly's job to educate his players and if they do something wrong he is well within his right to chew his players out. And to think that doesn't happen or get mad when its caught on camera is ignorant.

You are just looking for further reason to shite on Kelly to fit your agenda. GTFO.

Agree.
A kicker missing a kick is not a boneheaded mistake. Yelling for that is like yelling at a receiver for dropping a catch. It happens.

It’s not a guarantee you can spike the ball with 3 seconds. The rulebook says “you can reasonably expect” to spike the ball with 3 seconds.

Kirby Smart yells and has tantrums like a 2 year old toddler. It's working out pretty well for Georgia.

I haven’t seen the reason. So if it was for a boneheaded mistake, yell away.

Rewatch the play again, ramos didnt get himself ready for the snap, he clearly didnt listen when kelly told him and the rest of the team to be ready on the ref’s wind of the clock. Everyone else was ready but him

There were 3 seconds on the clock that were running when the whistle blew. By rule, you cannot spike the ball. That is an automatic 3 second run off. It was determined a few years ago. You would think some of you would actually know the rules before coming on here to complain. I’m not the biggest BK fan in the world, but he’s 100% in the right in that situation.
