Who do you fault ESPN/Disney or DIRECTV?

Since I have gotten better internet to my home a year ago, I dropped DIRECTV like a bad habit. I went with YouTube TV. This isn’t the first time DIRECTV has had disputes with programming providers. Now, I’m not a fan of the Disney corporation either but with the CBS disputes of the past, now Disney, this might drive the nail in the coffin of DIRECTV.
You mess with peoples sports viewing, then you will see some major consequences.

I think both are culpable, however, I believe Disney is trying to squeeze DIRECTV so hard they can’t agree and in the meantime, people are getting pissed, canceling DIRECTV and joining Hulu live, which is owned by Disney.
TLDR, both are greedy, but Disney is probably more greedy.

Disney’s market cap is about $170B with annual revenue of about $80B
DirecTV (ATT) market cap is about $100B but their annual revenue is about $120B. They only own about 70% of DirecTV
So at this point it’s whoever blinks first. But I’m guessing since they control 45% of the cell phones, I’d put money on DirecTV first.

Disney imo. They basically have a monopoly on college football in the south and know it.. they could have negotiated in good faith, they chose the latter. They can get fricked

Hulu Live works great and I figure that’s the push. But I wonder if that wouldn’t be some antitrust stuff there if that was their motive? I have no clue about that stuff.
But I do know that YouTube is owned by Google/Alphabet which could buy and sell both ATT and Disney with a sneeze. Their market cap is in the Trillions with their revenue is over $280 million.
Bottom Line if you’re pissed off switch to YouTubeTV

DirectTV.
All one has to do is ask a simple question to get the answer. Why can streaming services like YouTubeTV, etc have all the ABC/ESPN channels and cost substantially less than DirectTV and cable providers?

Both. I got $70 off PER MONTH to stay with DirectTV thru my contract. I would have cancelled but they would have destroyed my perfect credit rating. I ain't mad. Life goes on but I am getting use to being abused by THE MAN!

I fault the liberal assholes at Disney....they own it!

Because streaming sucks. I don't like glitches in the programming and the voices never match up with the video.

Two part answer for your two part question:
1) Disney’s contract with them hasn’t come up for a renewal.
2) significantly less overhead. DirecTV and cable providers actually have physical infrastructure to maintain.

Disney trying to recoup the billions they lost on shitty woke shows that no one watched by passing it on to red blooded Americans trying to watch sports.

Conferences are too blame. They want more more to televise their games so networks have to pay more.networks have to get the money from somewhere. So charge cable providers more and charge more for advertisements. Cable providers are fighting back bc they are already losing subscribers bc the prices are so high for cable.

Which is precisely the reason to go with less costly, more efficient streaming services.

Alphabet's 2023 revenue was 307 billion, with YTTV revenue at about 6 billion. Which I suppose is over $280 million, as you say.

F’em both. Either do it now or you will later in the season; switch to YouTubeTV and move on from this BS nonsense.

Spectrum had the issue last year. I got Youtube TV last year and will not go back.

Satellite dishes suck. A gust of wind knocks out services. They have been making money hand over fist for years. Competitors have entered the market and they want to recoup their lost marketshare by keeping prices high.
Disney is still awful for their borderline monopoly but satellite can afford to lower prices.
