How is SMU an 11.5 favorite against BYU tonight?

Am I missing something? No way BYU is that bad this season and SMU hasn't looked good from what I've watched so far. Seems like easy money for BYU to cover.

Based on what? Last 2 games they almost beat Oklahoma and at Oklahoma state in OT to end the season last year. Maybe they found something they could build on in those games to carry over to this season.

Based on the fact they are 150-1 to win the Big 12 and don’t have a very talented roster. I’m not trying to talk you out of your bet, but this BYU team is projected to be 4-8ish by oddsmakers.

They are only basing that on last year record and a lot can change from one season to the next. They also had WVU going 4-8 last season but they ended up 9-4.

I appreciate you trying at least but pretty much all you said was they suck because oddsmakers say they do. I'm looking for more concrete opinions on why and is SMU really that good from what people have seen.
