We’ve had 52 days above 100 this year and it has been horrible. I can’t begin to imagine what 100 straight days is like. Good lord that is fricked up.

Better them than us.
It’s been the mildest summer I can remember in at least a decade.

In 2011, Shreveport had more than 60 days above 100. Hit 109 a few times. Rain was nonexistent that summer. It was awful.

Just sat around a fire pit with a jacket on this evening.

And people like to downplay global warming. In about ten years our skin will boil walking outside if we don’t do something now.

Correct, it is the desert. When Alaska has this, I may be concerned.

They can drive 2 hours north to get to some elevation and heat relief. You can’t really go anywhere in Louisiana and our heat index is over 100 everyday from May to September

We ended up with humidity this year (which we really don’t get out here). There were thunderstorms that hit the Sierras bringing humidity to the Valley floor and forest fires making the outside smell like a campfire. I like campfires. I hate humidity. Highs for us this year were in the mid 110s. We’re warming back up over the next few days to 106 but then we’re under 100 again. This summer cannot end soon enough. Enjoy your cooldown.

We went to AZ in July and it was 118 when we landed. It was still 105 at 10pm there. What’s crazy is the elevation change between the 2 hr drive to Flagstaff. The highs were around 85 and in the 50’s at night.

Hey I remember that! I saw spots and almost passed out during my first-ever college tennis practice at Centenary because it was 20 million degrees out and I hadn’t hit in 2 weeks. Played tennis my whole life and that’s the only time it’s ever happened. I had to go inside and spend the rest of practice in the Gold Dome cooling off with the gymnastics team.
