End of our last drive killed me

John Emery had a chance and defender made a touchdown saving 1 on 1 tackle, then 2 minute "timeout". Then instead of running the ball and forcing them to call that 3rd timeout we have a motion to the flat to Anderson with Lacy all out blocking on the play and Nuss delays the throw and skips it. Could have been another big gain / TD. Then a bad fade.
Run the ball and we give them the ball back with no TOs down 3 with about a min left. And even with what we did we had two plays that could have gone for 6 and didn't. Sick about the end of that drive.

Nuss played well & there was nothing wrong with that play call. It was a high percentage play call of being completed & getting a 1st down, if not at touchdown. Nuss simply CANNOT make such a shite throw in that situation with the game on the line.

Aaron Anderson looked away as Nuss was rolling out (for some odd, unknown reason) and it messed up the timing causing Nuss to misfire.

This. He wasn't even looking for the ball. A perfect throw wouldn't have mattered. And throwing in that situation was stupid. But no one play costs the game.

Playcalling was straight dogsh*t with the first drive when we entered the red zone, the back half of the fourth quarter & time management, and constantly running sweeps and counters as our only running plays from the same formation. There were no plays to counter their blitzing, we took zero deep shots, and went to the most bland conservative offense in the second half.

When Nuss sees that lacy is lost on the play and is running across his face after being told not to, he has to call a timeout there. No excuse for that. Your #1 playmaker doesn't know where to line up....call 1 of your 3 timeouts and reset.

You’ve got a weird Nuss knighting thing going on. He played really good, but not perfect. And he shouldn’t be put in a position to have to have been perfect.

No, it wouldn't. You sure do post laughing emojis a lot. Are you a retard?

I’ve been posting them towards you because I just figured out who you are. Not literally—you’re not significant enough for me to have noticed prior—but just generally. You’re the guy who backed Nuss over Daniels the last 2 years and are so pot-committed now that you can’t concede Nuss is not perfect. You went in so hard for Nuss that you became one of the assholes that shite on Daniels because you cared more about being right than what was best for LSU. And it’s always a false dichotomy with guys like you. To defend “your guy,” you must shite on the other. They can’t both be good and we can’t be fans of both, in your mind we have to choose. And you chose Nuss and you chose poorly. Because Jayden is a goddamn freak of nature unicorn. (Granted, I don’t “know” that you shite on Jayden—like I said, you and your posts are too insignificant for me to remember—but I bet if I went back a couple years it would confirm my suspicions).
And since Jayden had one of the greatest seasons by a QB in CFB history, you can’t really be taken seriously by really even mentioning him. So you’re forced to white knight for Nuss even when he makes bad plays. And when you see the all-22 breakdown and analysis, not only did he miss that throw, but he missed seeing some open guys for big gains in the 2nd half that would have put the game away.
However, I never pitted the 2 against each other. I loved what Nuss brings, but knew with the young offensive line in ‘22 that we would need Jayden’s legs. He was the better QB for that team. But I never shitted on Nuss, I could just see we needed Jayden’s legs. And then I realized that not only was he a “good” running QB, he was super fricking elite and one of the best of all time. And he didn’t turn the ball over. I knew he needed to take more shots downfield last year, though.
And after seeing our defense, I knew we were gonna need his legs, him throwing the ball downfield, AND to protect the football, which was Nuss’s weakness. Because we had to score just about every possession and couldn’t afford to give the opponents any more than we had to. So it was obvious Jayden was the right QB for last year’s team too. But that never meant I didn’t support Nuss. I was glad he didn’t play in that bowl game, so he’d have an extra year. I wanted him to stay over Walker Howard. I was thrilled he stuck around. But I didn’t have to take sides against Jayden to like Nuss.
I love Nuss’s moxie, his arm, his attitude, everything. And I thought he was fantastic last night, especially with not forcing things and turning the ball over. I was concerned that, despite his age and being in the program, he’s still relatively inexperienced, and an aggressive DC was gonna show him things last night on big plays that he hadn’t seen and that was gonna be a problem. Turns out, it was a little problem in that he got confused a handful of times and missed some guys. But he didn’t turn the ball over, and every QB is gonna miss some guys. BK and Sloan put him in a position to where he had to be perfect, and he almost was, but wasn’t quite. And that’s a terrible position to put a 1st time regular season starter in, no matter how old he is.
The bottom line is I think we can win with Nuss, and I think we can win big with Nuss. But like almost every QB in the history of the sport, he can’t do it without at least some kind of running game to help him. I thought everyone involved in that phase of the game let him—and the team—down save for John Emery for a 5 or 6 plays.
Nuss is good, probably really good. But he’s not Joe or Jayden. And he shouldn’t have to be.

You post them all the time. I checked your history. I'll just assume you're retarded since it's how you come across. And no you don't know anything about me nor am I or anyone else reading that novel you posted.

I do. In fairness, I post mostly from my phone now and can’t access the emojis, so have to remember the codes. And I’ve only got 3 in my repertoire, so we’re all gonna have to deal with it.

You know that’s bullshite. I may come across as an a-hole, but nobody thinks I’m retarded. And dude, retarded is not the proper nomenclature. Intellectually challenged, please.

Not as a human being, but as a poster. But I’m not creepy enough to actually check your post history.

Lies. You 1000% read every word of that novella—it was long, but not novel long—post.
Look, let’s call a truce. I’m actually in a good mood and just fooling. Last night sucked. Hard. But the sun rose today. I woke up alive and not hungover. Pretty sure it will rise again tomorrow.
And we both like Nuss. I just wouldn’t suck his dick and tickle his balls. But you do you. I don’t kink shame. But seriously, we’re all on the same team and just want the best for LSU. I’m too old to be holding grudges or making enemies. Whatcha say? Friends?

Gave USC a much needed extra timeout. Lost game at that 2:00 timeout. Things would have been much different if clock continued to run, LSU scores with no time left on clock for USC.

The entire second half was running when we shouldn't have (became predictable) and passing when we should have been running (again, predictable.)
Nuss made a bad throw, one of his few for the night. But, clock management was horrible there. As a coach, knowing our D, you have to manage it to where they won't have time to score on us.
Also, what was frustrating was the targeting at the end. I think they would have been on around the 23 yard line, minus the penalty. While that isn't a long field goal, with the way their kicker had missed a short one and almost missed an extra point, we would have had a fighting chance on a 40 yarder, imo.

I can't understand how any logical person through this co-oc crap was going to work. We've seen this movie before, we know how it ends.
It 's a clear divisive line on leadership and philosophy. There is no way in the world they can (or should be) on the same page at all times and being "co" in just about any professional relationship leaves room for doubt.
That position is entirely too important to be left up to TWO under-qualified applicants.

I watched the replay. Nuss didn't delay it. For whatever reason, Anderson stopped looking at him for a brief moment during the route.

I also believe there were a couple occasions where the Rec broke off his route after Nuss threw it....at least a few throws looked like they were not on the same page.

Of all the positives Nuss brought that ONE shitty throw to the flat on 3rd was the difference in the game.

And they still would have easily scored. The pass play was the right play. It worked like a charm. All we needed was for our guys to execute as well as an average high school player. You can’t blame coaches for that.

I think that if he got the ball out before he turned his head away he had a chance to pick up the first or score. But by the time he looks back if the throw was on the money I still don't think he scores and may not even get the first with where the defenders were at.

The other drive that got me was:
- Emery nailed for 5 yd loss on first down
- Good 14-yd completion to Pimpton - 14, not 15
- Then we can't get a yard on third and one
