Why do political parties waste so much money on TV ads?

If I was running the GOP, I'd decrease TV ad spending by 90%+ (people hear the ad once and then basically tune it out when they hear it again). In a world like we have where the sides are so polarized, not many voters are swayed by TV ads and a lot of people don't even watch local channels anyways.
Seems like those hundreds of millions of dollars would be better spent to get thousands of Scott Preslers out there to get any unregistered truck driver, hunter, and veterans in the swing states registered to vote for Trump.

Because the average undecided voter is pretty dumb and will believe those ads.

They have to present the illusion of spending those millions of campaign contribution dollars so we don't catch on.

Because millions of Americans still rely on the MSM for their information. How do you think the progressive commies control the narrative??? The MSM is the progressive left propaganda machine.

It’s payoff to the media for toting the water in the farce of political freedom.

I’ve literally seen not one this cycle (or last two) except clips posted on here. And I’m not sure those were real TV ads.

They move the needle. If one candidate runs ads, the other has no choice.

TV ads are still the best way to reach uninformed voters. Voters who do not watch news or seek out political social media channels/podcasts.
Basically, about 60% of the oblivious country.
