Was about to bitch about the 11.7 scholarships after reading proposal to allow 105 for football when this turned up:
"The NCAA just approved increasing the number of baseball scholarships per team from 11.7 to 34 for the 2025-26 season. This means the whole roster of D1 and D2 baseball players will be able to get a full scholarship. No more 1/2 or 1/4 scholarships for position players."

Yeah. We saw. It’s so overdue it was hard to even get excited.
Like most things, it hurts smaller programs and helps larger.

It helps middle of the road programs. Big programs already found ways to get players on campus with NIL. This won’t change their approach much if at all. Mid-tier teams will profit greatly as they have a chance to compete for players. Schools that didn’t give a shite about baseball to begin with won’t see any change.

All SEC baseball programs LOSE money including LSU's. Going to 34 schollies will make the losses bigger. I do not think all 16 SEC teams will go to 34 schollies nor will many if not most other programs.
That being said, I am really glad all our roster will get a full scholarship.

Most of what you said is moronic, but this has so many conflicting negatives it’s hard to even know what you do or don’t think will happen.
But it’s probably also moronic.

It has the possibility of making the sunbelt the 3rd or 4th best baseball conference.

34 is pretty wild of a jump

One thing it changes is instead of my endowment being divided between several players, it will go entirely to one player.

There are some negatives too. Won’t be able to carry injured players without them counting against the number. At least that’s how I understand it.

So, What sports will they have to 'invent' for the Ladies to have an equal # of schollies, with bball @ 34 & football @ 100+?
Title 9.
