McDonald’s in French Quarter

Walked out of Unique Market on Royal today after paying $4 for a water. Answered a call on phone and looked where I was standing. It was the entrance to the McDonalds on Royal. I forgot all about out being there. That had to be the worst McDonald’s in the world. Besides from the bums sleeping in the booths, the floors completely covered in grease and litter or the bathrooms that smelled like someone pissed in your nose I can’t recall how many fights between customers and employees there was but it was more than 3. There was always constant yelling in there also. Only thing i remember about the one on Canal was sitting on the curb waiting on it to open at 5am.

Where are all these other companies that are supposed to compete with Lucky dogs. I’m in the French quarter 3 or 4 times a week and never seen one

Krystal is still there. It's on Bourbon. The McDonalds is on Canal not Royal.

My freshman year at LSU, 1978, it was great for me. Bought a large Coke there and used the cup to urinate in during Mardi Gras. Just went to the car and peed in it with thousands of people right outside the car. Opened the door and poured it onto the street.

They had one on Royal back in the day. Nextdoor to Unique mart. Signs still in window. We talking late 90s. Canal McDonald’s back then was on other side of canal down towards the theatres

I’ve seen some interesting things go on that far down Bourbon in my younger weekend partying days at about 3 AM.

I could be wrong but I don't think the unit he's talking about is still open. 20% sure at most though.
