My Father bought a Cub Cadet mower this spring.
This is a warning DO NOT BUY Cub Cadet.

Ordered a new spindle July, 29. Have heard crickets until I called today.
Customer service took 1 hour 43 minutes to get a person on the phone. Took another 14 minutes to get someone who could cancel order.

That is all.

Before this gets moved I'll say I had a small Cub Cadet push mower for 5 years. Never had an issue. My dad gave me a fancy Honda that's the only reason I got rid of it.

I’ve got a cub cadet riding mower that my father purchased new in 2002 that’s still going strong. I remember the year because he bought it the day before I moved to college (and he was going to have to start cutting the grass again)

In 2017 I bought the XT1 LT 46” Enduro series but opted for the 22hp Kohler engine. It’s been great. 1.5 acre lot. Garage kept and regular maintenance performed at manufacturer recs.

My only complaint is the belt hops off the blade engagement pulley from time to time in between disengaging and reengaging the blade. Cant figure how to tighten

Mowers can be money pits like cars.

I have a 60" inch Cub zero turn, going on 5 years strong. Routine maintenance and she's as good as day one.

I have a Cub LT46. Bought in June 2022. Has been a piece of shite, blades bend just running over simple branches. Belt is always coming loose. Was told that 2022 was the worse year to buy these because of the Covid lack of labor and parts from 2021 and 2022. It's now relegated to my second mower and only use it really for my electric sprayer because the battery is very convenient right under the seat. Can alligator clip easy to the Cub. That's all I got.

I'll just add to this that if OP is deadset on buying one because of the cheaper price, then make sure you don't get a star pattern blades. Once you have to replace them once, the star pattern never fully matches up even with OEM replacements. Piece of crap engineering which eventually frik with the transmission.

Because he ran over a Cypress knee and the star pattern blades are pieces of shite. He doesn't even have to answer you as I already know the answer because it happened to me not once...but twice.

I have one from 2021 and it’s given me zero problems. Only thing I cnaged was to add tractor style tires.

Yeah that’s pretty shitty. I haven’t had to change mine on my Husky and I abuse the shite out of it.

Two weeks might not be that bad depending on the part. Did you buy this from a Dealer or Home Depot?

I replaced mine. Haven't had any issues with that, and i hit a big arse stump that bent the blade.

Bought my 46" LT in 2015. Hardly do any maitenance at all to it. This is the first year it's starting to have issues, likely b/c i don't take care of it well.
I've only had to change the belt twice. This year starting it up i had to add transmission fluid to it as seems to slowly over time leak out, as this is a known problem. I've had to grease the wheels twice. I think i've changed the oil 3 times in 9 years. Mine has been beat to hell and neglected, and still works just fine.

I will say the one thing I hate about it is the fact that it gets bogged down with thick grass, and the mulching blade and cover aren't worth a shite and leave big arse clumpy lines of grass behind me. I look like an idiot having to blow my yard to get rid of the chunks of grass that i'll end up with on the last pass or two. Just open blowing it to the side makes it even worse.
