I believe our defensive line will be improved this year, not just due to different coaching, but when you go up against what is the best O-line in the country day in and day out you have to step up your game and you will be prepared come game day.

Bo Davis has the toughest job of any coach on the team, but it wouldnt surprise me if he has those guys playing as good or better overall than the unit last year which included Maason Smith, Mekhi Wingo and Jordan Jefferson.

That would be ridiculous if he could get more out of the unit this year than the talent those guys that left had.

But does steel sharpen iron, or does iron sharpen steel?

The o line was exactly the same last yr minus Chester at center.

I know Bo Davis will have the d tackles playing hard.

everyone should be confident that the defensive coaching staff is light years ahead of the last staff. all three levels will have a plan to work together and that plan will have strengths and weaknesses in mind. this will all lead to fewer blown coverages as things will be simplified for the young guns in the defensive back field.

or that is what I have convinced myself of thus far.

Hopefully, Baker can be creative enough to scheme and disguise his defenses to help the DL, too!

We may not have the talent we had last year, but I know we won’t be lining up a yard off the ball anymore. Bo will demand physicality and hustle and pull you if you don’t do those things.

I think people forget we essentially didn't even have an interior D-line coach for most of last year.
