Are we actually 6 months away from civil war? Given this Harris/walz ticket now, extremely socialist. And now Raskin states, if trump wins he will be blocked on 1/6/25.
2020 election fraud was mostly overlooked, but if it’s blatant again, doubt people will sit on their hands again
Look at England, Pakistan, Venezuela currently

It pretty much is now. It's just covered up because it sounds bad to conservatives.

Do you understand what socialism is? Welfare, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps - all socialist programs.

If you saw the recent movie Civil War, I’m gonna be like the Jesse Plemons character minus the red sunglasses.

Socialism is when the workers own the means of production and distribution. Actual socialism would be nationalizing Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Apple and paying dividends to anyone who works there. Not a system where you have to work 40 hours a week to be able to have access to healthcare and university costs $100000 for 4 years.

But you know who does?

Our adversaries...

The chances of this happening are none. Zero.

I dunno.

I hope you're correct.

I never thought I'd see it go as far as it has in my lifetime. Although, I was often reminded by my Dad that things looked bleak under FDR (he had a socialist VP one term) and things looked terribly bad in the 60s .... which I remember well.

quote:

Was Franklin D. Roosevelt a democratic socialist?

Roosevelt tried a variety of approaches early in his presidency. Eventually he borrowed a package of policies from the 1932 Socialist Party Platform of Norman Thomas and the Research Team led by Maynard Krueger of the University of Chicago.
LINK

FDR left out direct taxation of concentrations of assets(which was later picked up by Huey Long) and John Stuart Mill and Henry George's call for taxes on land values.

I would not say FDR was a Democratic Socialist. He was a pragmatist trying to hold the US together who found Socialist policies the best available. He tried those policies as a last resort. You need to remember, at the time, a lot of outsiders fully expected a revolution in the US. Allistar Cook was warned by his employers that was a very real possibility.

I mean probably communism? IDC. Just wanted to provide a little education on what socialism is.

It's not just a generic term for anyone who is moderate left or further.
