Seems like there hasn’t been any news about this whole thing in the last few months. I remember seeing a few stories about there being issues with the stadium and Vegas but I feel like it’s weird how quiet everything is. Manfred has been so shady about this entire process.

I wish John Fisher would just sell the frickin team…he is the worst. Plenty of potential buyers in the Bay Area. Fairly certain Joe Lacob (Warriors owner) has expressed interest in the past. Then they could build a stadium at the terminal or wherever they wanted to in Oakland and keep the team there. Vegas would be a disaster and seems like none of the locals in Vegas even want the team

I googled it and the only thing I saw was this on SI from a few days ago…

A's Las Vegas Financing Reportedly "May Have Hit a Roadblock"

When Las Vegas gets a team Pete Rose should be automatically reinstated

Seems like they still don't have it 100% done which is insane and embarrassing for the league

it's gonna get done
they will spend time in Sacramento until the stadium is ready
a NBA team won't be far behind in Vegas
It will be a sports mecca with all professional sports

The funniest part of all of this, is that the A's are moving to Sacramento in the interim and playing in triple A stadium.

All I read is Fisher can't find any investors to build his new stadium.

I will be happy to have them here. It will be interesting to see if Sacramento can support a major league team.

There does not seem to be much enthusiasm or interest for baseball in Vegas. Seems to have been a short-sighted and premature decision to move there.

Hey, at least the A's will have a nice empty stadium to play in rather than the dump they were playing in.

The Sacramento thing makes this look even more short-sighted and embarrassing.

The appeal of Vegas for these pro teams is the thought that you take a weekend trip out there and gamble.

That works well for football, but who wants to see a garden variety Sunday-Wednesday night MLB game in a half (or more) empty field in Vegas.

The Tropicana is being torn down now. Did they jump the gun?

Oakland received some sort of grant right before Fisher pivoted to Las Vegas. And both sides were only $100M apart. If they both put their heads together, the Howard Terminal project could have easily happened.

Fisher has been a crappy owner for years. Going to Las Vegas won't change that. Have fun playing in 110 degree heat in Sacramento for the next 3 years.

I agree, why not catch a MLB game and then post game in a casino/bar?

If Vegas falls through, Nashville and Charlotte would open doors for them.

It's a metro area of 2.6million.

Part of me wonders if they go to Sacramento and end up staying there permanently.

Pete will love it. He spends 8 hours a day at the MgM Grand signing autographs for $50 a pop. His biz will boom!
