Has BK given a recent update? Thought he said case was getting settled up end of July. Is he practicing yet?

Court date got pushed to September. He won’t be back anytime soon

Because more evidence is expected to be provided to attorneys working on the case. Holly's lawyer Mike Small says he along with the prosecution filed a joint motion for a September 18th continuance.

Small says he remains convinced of Holly's innocence. "I am equally convinced of his burning desire to play football for LSU. I share that desire and I'm going to do everything I can possibly do to make that possible."
Small says Holly is not discouraged by the mid-September continuance. "We certainly don't view it as a negative development at all. I remain convinced of Trey's innocence. I'm hopeful that the case can be disposed of."

does it really matter at this point
even if cleared he is so far behind all the other backs right now since he's been suspended for awhile now

Don't expect much PT for him this year. He would likely be the 4th or 5th RB even if he wasn't in legal trouble.

maybe it was wrong place wrong time but at some point if he wants a future in this game you might have to leave behind the crowd you are associating yourself with back home

The DA is making sure Trey gets screwed this season because he knows he’ll never get a conviction. Getting his pound of flesh.

i don't know about the DA and his animus here, but something seems amiss, misplaced in the way all this went down from the arrest forward.
Among other things ,it appears he was overcharged.
Can somebody shed some light on what the politics of this case are?

Poor, small southern town, needing some attention and money.

Well, Holly's lawyer must be in on it then, because he signed off alongside the DA for the continuance till september.

Hard disagree.

I played with him on PS5 just last night and he held his own with the rest of the RB room.

Trey Hollys gun with forensic evidence was proven to be fired on scene

Witnesses have said Holly was the one that fired the gun

I don’t know how yall can be mad at the DA here for the charges currently

Where’d you get those details? His attorney seems pretty confident that the evidence will prove Holly’s innocence

There is no public evidence at the time

I have family in Farmerville. Before Holly was ever arrested for the crime I was told his gun ballistics were matched to the scene and witnesses said he fired it. Thought it was small town typical group chat until he actually got arrested

Now you have the grand jury. They threw out the attempted murder charge but the weapons charge remains. The evidence seems to match

Now with Holly having no priors hopefully he can plea down and avoid the trial altogether

The one narrative of “small town cops and da trying to make a name for themselves” I can completely debunk. Holly was loved in Farmerville. It would do them no career favors at all to try and frame him

4th or 5th ? He probably would’ve been the 3rd if not 2nd best behind Kaleb .. Yall forget he is the all time leading rusher in Louisiana High School History.

Someone does not want him playing. I like conspiracies.

False , the witness doesn’t know who shot her and who fired the guns . I have family in Farmerville and it was 4 or 5 people firing weapons .

At this point the earliest it looks like his case might conclude is sometime in September.

With him not practicing at all he is looking at a redshirt situation this year where if he comes back mid-season he might see action in a few games (4 or less) to preserve a year. No point in throwing him out there without much practice for 7-8 games and burn the redshirt if he was able to come back say in October.

With Emery coming back it gives us 4 viable backs between Williams, Jackson, Emery and Durham for now. If a couple guys got banged up later in year and Holly was around, then that might be the time you have to use him.
