The very basis of it being judging someone on their skin color, origin or identification not their merit and character.

How do cities like New York get away with banning guns from its citizens when it’s a Constitutional right?

I took the Postal Service test back in the early 80's and made a passing score. Did not get a job because I was already 20 points in the hole by not being a black female veteran. Probably worked out for the best in my career choice though so not dwelling on it. Pissed me off at the time though.

It is based on the civil rights act of 1964. The evolution of that has come through court decisions instead of big legislation. The process, which took decades, is explained in Kennyu's book "School of Woke". I read it last month and it's amazing how many of our stupid govt policies didn't come from actual legislation but from courts. The big corporations had a choice: challenge the policy in court (and spend millions on lawyers) or just comply with halfway measures of DEI to show you're trying your best.
Remember, the govt doesn't have to pay their lawyers in these cases....you pay with your taxes.

OK, here is an explanation of how left wing judges made them legal. It's called 'disparate impact.'
IE, Acme corporation needs very smart young people to train for technical work. So, they check your ACT, SAT scores. Whites and Asians score much higher than blacks. So, Acme has very few blacks.
The courts have ruled that test scores create 'disparate impact' on a race. Therefore, Acme is guilty of racism which is a violation of the Civil Rights Act.
Acme realizes that they can't fight this in court against the govt. So, they hire unqualified blacks in smaller numbers than their percentage of the population and then promote their DEI commitment in order to prevent the govt from shutting them down.
It's wrong. It's unjust. But that's why it is done.

The left has no moral issue with racism.

Racism is an amoral tool that, like any tool, can be used for good purposes or bad ones.

If the purpose is to put a certain demographic ahead, racism is 'good'.

If the purpose is to prevent a certain demographic from participating in society, racism is 'bad'.

Even if racism itself has no moral quality, the goal trying sought by its use will have a moral character.

Well, I appreciate your dad, although I hate he had to go to that hell hole to fight a war we had little intention to or plans for winning.

It’s funny that you people have an issue with affirmative action but said nothing about the SCOTUS saying AA was wrong UNLESS it’s the military. Hypocrites.
