What would the political/societal aftermath have looked like if that nut job had killed him? First day? Week later? Months later?

Can’t wrap my head around where we would be, especially with all the SS incompetence videos

The leftist establishment that's squatting in every office in D.C. would have been orgasmic with relief and accomplishment. Safe to say that there would have been special "get togethers" to celebrate.

I think that most people would've realized we were officially in an authoritarian regime. The reaction to that would most likely be less compliance with federal laws/regulations and communities would splinter off into their own unofficial little countries.

Unfortunately I believe not much would have changed. The media would have more easily controlled the narrative that Crooks was a lone wolf psycho. I’m sure the FBI would have flushed misinformation into the airways to the point most people were confused.

You’d have some groups organizing for a response, but it would be isolated. The Republicans in Washington would express sympathy and outrage but only enough to play well with their base. They’d align with Democrats to denounce political violence but only because they want to stay active in their lush lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Biden would probably stay in the race. You might see a new VP pick. Biden would resign a year into his second term and the new VP would be president.

The RNC would have been a nightmare. A mix of grief, calls for political unity, and perhaps a pick for a replacement. Don’t be mistaken that they would call for anything resembling a Civil War. Rich assholes don’t care that much.

The Internet would be bogged down by conspiracy theories. Life would move on. We’re pacified to the point of inertia.

IMO of course.
