Door to door sales guy knocked at 10pm

Has his scooter, hi-vis, tablet…I assume a long arse pitch…etc.
I didn’t answer…watched the door-cam wife being frantic…but I respect that hustle assuming he wasn’t trying to rape or kill us. Big assumption. I don’t own a small business but that dude I would hire on the cheap. Not many can handle that kind of sales job.

When I was a kid mom and dad would have invited him in for a cup of sanka and a slice of pound cake. Nowadays everyone takes cover.

I have lived in seven states and I can't think of any of my neighbors in any of them who would have welcomed a 10pm sales man.
Several would have called the police or security personnel hired by the neighborhood.

I don't answer the door to random people I don't know...ESPECIALLY if they have a clip board. They can frick right off.

I would’ve answered shirtless with a shotgun esp considering I go to bed at 9:00pm.
Since I have an easily visible ‘No solicitation’ sign he would’ve been trespassing at that point so would have possibly made a citizens arrest.

Not quite 10 for me but did have a young dude knock around 9:00, mind you I have a no soliciting sign next to my door. If you’re dumb enough to knock on my door after dark to sell me something after reading a sign specifically stating not to, you’re gonna get cussed out.

No idea why you were down voted. That's how it used to be. Also the cream in the Sanka would have come from the milk delivery that was sitting by the front door when you answered the door bell.

Definitely criminals out there using high vis vest and a clip board as a way to get people to open doors. At 10 pm. I'm expecting that's what's happening. I'm not answering the door and gun is out until I know fornsure they are gone.

I guess it’s the part that I left out which is I don’t answer the door or phone unless I know who it is these days.
Back then folks loved company, now we avoid it unless they are invited.
