"We had 10 win season and I fired my whole defensive staff. We have to get better."
Now that's a quote from a Coach who wants to win

For those that missed, rewind the stream to where it would've been about 8:50am CT

I think the new hires on defense if anything bring attitude and physicality to the field. We needed it. The talk of competitiveness willing to fight over is a huge huge area of growth.
Bo Davis and his dline got Texas over the hump. They were just soft for years.

If you’ve ever spoke publicly with a sound system there’s a split second delay. You can’t listen to it. Or it’s just weird. That’s what was happening. He’s figured it out.

He sounds awful. Couldn’t remember player names never is a good look.

Did he call zavion Thomas Zion?

He sounds like he's taking the final exam for public speaking class and didn't show up for a lot of the class.. This is super bizarre.

Just called Zavion, Zion.
Listen, I don't think it's THAT big of a deal, but he gets players names wrong all the fricking time.
His own players.

You can hear the echo in the room. That’s the issue.

He said that comment about the "rental car" on SEC radio this morning, essentially implying that in previous years Nussmeier wasn't all that worried about damaging the car (i.e. throwing interceptions) because it wasn't "his". Thus, he was willing to be a bit more reckless while driving. Now that it's his car he is a lot more mindful.
IMO, that will be the biggest question for Nussmeier and the staff. Can he limit some of the poor decisions/throws that comes from his great self-confidence while also making sure he maintains that great self-confidence a QB has to have to make big throws?
Daniels always had an "out" with his running ability if he didn't feel confident in trying to make a throw. Nuss doesn't have that. I think multiple times a game this year we are going to see 4-5 unbelievable throws into tight windows (see the 1st TD pass he threw vs. Georgia) combined with 3-4 "WTF are you doing!" throws.
