Got a notice from Nugs.net last might that Billy Strings released his first official "live album". Vol I is a fantastic array of 10 of his better songs played like only he can live. The quality of the soundboard recordings and production is off the charts good. (Better than these Youtube links below)

Youtube link to all the concerts that make up the album

Here is the song from the NYE Show in NOLA:

Yep, nothing like a live show but Nugs is money well spent to bridge the gaps.

I sure hope he comes back to UNO again this year,

I watched the whole thing on his YT channel last night. It sounded great in digital surround sound. Can't imagine how good it's going to sound on vinyl!

I've got tickets to see him in October for the first time. I haven't been this excited about a concert since the Clockwork Angels tour back in 2013.
Apparently, you never know what he is going to do from one show to the next.
So much better than knowing basically every song you are going to hear before you go to a show.
That is probably why he seems to be such an electric live performer. Everybody has to be on their toes and ready, not just memorizing and playing by rote repetition.

I'm old. He's young.

But from what I've seen and heard he's one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen and heard.

The music world really needs him.

I barely knew any of his songs the firs ttime I saw him and certainly wasn't a bluegrass fan. I went because I knew, as a intermediate player myself, he could play that wooden sound machine. That was it. I was totally blown away at his live performance it is a freaking amazing sound and crowd experience.

BMF Strings is the man.

how was the show? I listened to it on nugs this morning it sounded great, especially the double mandolins with sierra. Did they cut the mic at the end?

It was great! We walked over from colter wall and got good seats just to the right of the stage. Beautiful sunset then full moon during the set. He had sierra on for 3-4 songs it seemed and they just jammed. His set list was amazing. Really played a couple of the “hits” early then jammed the rest. I have a few pics and videos if interested.

Yes they cut it short. His set was to end at 11 and it was 11:06 and boom it shut off. I was so in to I thought the power went out and was very confused. It was a city ordinance I think not a fest one but who knows. Great show and can’t wait to see him again.
