We are here now, staying at Grand Hyatt. Leave today for O’ahu. It has been amazing. We did the luau here which was nice. We took the zodiac rafts with Capt Andy into the caves along the Napali coast which was amazing. Kids said it was their favorite thing. Also did a kayak and hike to secret falls which was great. Let me know if you have any questions!

Such an incredible place. Was there 5 years ago and these are some things we enjoyed:

Napali Coast helicopter OR boat tour
Catch a sunset at Poipu beach
We stayed at Grand Hyatt and St. Regis..tidepools at the grand was fantastic
Spend some time admiring the incredible vibe of Hanalei
Hiked around Waimea canyon. Also did a kayak tour here to a waterfall.
One thing we couldnt do because it was closed due to mudslides was hike in Na Pali but they are a number of incredible trails if you are in to that.
Poke is everywhere and its all so good

Enjoy! You will be back

We will be there in the morning at 11;45. On our list is the boat tour of the Coast, going to the canyon, havent decided if we take a tour or just go in our rental, zip lining booked, surf lessons booked, and an afternoon of golf possibly. We are staying at the Hyatt.

We’ve done that a couple of times and it’s the best thing we’ve ever done on vacation. Breathtaking and your pictures and videos will never do it justice.

Go eat at The Beach House at sunset. Great Mai Tais and food. The Rum distillery is pretty good too. They have a great bar

Definitely check out Waimea Canyon.

We did the Hanakapi?ai Falls Trail on the Na Pali Coast and it was pretty difficult for me at the time, I'd like to think I'd fair better now (this was probably 8 years ago), but don't try it if you aren't in shape. Beautiful views, but I wanted to throw myself off of the ridge toward the end of the hike

we did the atv tour with kaua’i atv (same place different name as Koloa zipline) very dusty but fun. read after in the greatest guide book ever (ultimate guide to kauai) that we should of used Kipu ranch atv. anyway if your planning on coming here get that book it has a blue cover and IT DONT MISS on anything we’ve tried, from secret beaches to awesome hikes and restaurants. we we’re literally the only people on 2 of the beaches we went to

We’ve done both Kipu and Kauai ATV, both are great but just different overall. Kauai you could go faster but Kipu had more difficult terrain.

The best beach there is the one where you have reserve a spot 30 days out and sells out within minutes

Just got back from our week there. We did and saw about everything we had hoped. Day one was surf lessons for the boys on Poipu Beach, the more athletic one struggled, the younger one did great. That evening we ate at The Beach House, food solid with a great view.

Day 2 was an early hike up the heritage trail by our place at the Hyatt, that was pretty awesome, beautiful views and got to see a couple sea turtles on the reef there. Zip lining with the Kauai Outfitters, everything went smooth the guides were awesome, one was particularly in tune with all the history and plants on the ranch there. The 4000 foot zip line to end was pretty awesome!

Day 3 we spent the day with Matt, for a tour of the Canyon, stopped on the way out to see the Spouting Horn and the Coffee place, a nice way to break up the ride. The canyon was spectacular. Absolutely beautiful and we had a couple hikes to some places that were short to get to and no one else there, so felt like the private guide was worth it. All in all took about 5 hours. That evening, went to Keokis for dinner and all enjoyed the food. Day 4 was a mid morning zodiac raft ride with Napali Riders, really enjoyed that, conditions were super with smooth run out and were able to go in and out of all coves. Crew was super pumped about how awesome the conditions were, snorkeling was great with calm clear water and plenty of fish and turltes. Going in and out of the caves was super fun. On the way back we went by the glass beach and by Poipu beach again to see the turtles and the seals, had a few turtles coming up on the beach and 2 seals out. Had a great hot dog there at the Puka Dog and it was awesome. Day 5 we went over to the other side of the Island, saw Princeville sights and Hanalei Bay, grabbed lunch there and headed back. On way back in stopped in at the hike to Hoopi i falls and that was a nice hike but pretty popular but we checked off hiking to a waterfall. That was our luau day and we did that for dinner Day 6 was a round of golf for me and the older boy at Poipu Golf Course, and the younger son went out for a morning of surfing while mom got a little beach time. Dinner was at the resort restaurant Stevensons Library, it was outstanding, it is a sushi place, but if you enjoy sushi I cant . Last day was a a complete day of hanging around the resort, we checked out at 11 and used the hospitality suite to shower and get ready for our red eye back.
Thanks for the recs of the board. And thankful to not get caught up in any of the travel delays. I really enjoyed the Hyatt, it was easy in and out, plenty of amenities, we played pickle ball a couple times, parking was free, service staff and housekeeping were all super. Bring your wallet, everything in Kauai is super expensive but it was awesome
