I think my wife (no pics) just started perimenopause and I never knew this existed as I thought there was just menopause. Perimenopause is messing up the sex with her irregular periods and I was not ready for this to happen yet.

Explain this better. She's not into it?

Happens to women at different ages - some at 35, others at 50. Tell her to go to the doctor and they'll probably put her on hormones.

Oh, so it's logistics more than desire. Not sure how to help here.

How are you guys connected emotionally, menatally, and spiritually? If one or all three or lacking and even missing, the physcial will be gone for a woman, medical condition or not.

A few things:

Perimenopause is a real thing and affects women about a decade before menopause. It can lead to hormone disruptions that might trigger chronic pain, irregular periods, and changes in libido.

It is also the latest hot word going around social media. Kind of like gaslighting five years ago or mental load a few years ago. Dr Mary Claire Haver is making the podcast rounds and soaring on Instagram (1.7 million followers). She talks extensively about perimenopause and the impact it can have on women.

I’m not trying to direct the response to your wife’s claims in any way. Just saying that there’s a lot out there to influence her self-diagnosis of what’s going on. She should see her ob/gyn and get blood work. She should also make sure she’s healthy (diet, sleep, and exercise). Then perhaps hormones or birth control could help.

Stout usually posts a link on Amazon to a 55 gallon drum of lube. Amazon Prime days are almost here so maybe you can get a deal on it.

She could have fibroid tumors which can cause the same effects.

You may think it is pretty good, and it might be for you. But how does she interpret that question is what really matters.

Are you confirming this with a visual inspection or just taking her word for it?
