Been wanting to make this up for almost a week just haven’t had the time with Americas birthday and everything

but here is a timeline from last year at this time when everyone was freaking out about our recruiting

This what LSU did to close the cycle

June 26 and 27

Twitter Link

5 star OT Davis and Louisianas very own 4 star DL Gabe Reliford commit to Texas A&M

The panic on this board was kicking into overdrive with our need at DL

July 22nd brought some good news

Twitter Link

Tylen Singleton commits! Ends up being our 9th best commit of this class!

August 4

Twitter Link

August 10

Twitter Link

Caden Durham commits ends up being our 7th best commit

September 1

Lowest point of our beloved recruiting board

Twitter Link

5 star DT Dominick McKinley from Louisiana commits to Texas A&M the doom and gloom after this happened was insane!

October 10

Twitter Link

CJ Jackson commits who ends up our 7th best commit of the class

October 22

Twitter Link

PJ Woodland commits 7 days after decommitting from Miss State

Then Flipmas starts early in October and starts a brilliant run by our staff

October 26

Twitter Link

Davis flips to LSU who ends as our 2nd highest recruit in the class

December 8

Twitter Link

Twitter Link

Gabe Reliford flips to LSU and ends up being our 4th best recruit

December 19

Twitter Link

LSU gets their QB for the 2024 class

December 22

Twitter Link

Coen Echols commits to LSU 2 weeks after decommitting from A&M

December 31

LSU ends Flipmas season with the biggest one of them all

Twitter Link

5 star DT Dom McKinley from Louisiana flips to LSU ending up as our #1 recruit in the 2024 class

Now let’s recap

7-22
LB Tylen Singleton #158 on3 industry

8-04
WR Jelani Watkins #217 on3 industry

8-10
RB Caden Durham #103 on3 industry

10-12
Edge CJ Jackson #154 on3

10-22
CB PJ Woodland

10-26
OL Weston Davis #23 on3

12-08
DL Gab Reliford #50 on3

12-19
QB Colin Hurley

12-22
OL Coen Echols #229 on3 industry

12-31
DL Dom McKinley #13 on3 industry

Point of this post is to show that’s there’s no reason to get all bent up out of shape in spring/summer with recruiting

It happens every year and every year LSU ends the class just fine

Can’t wait to see what we do this year

Go tigers!

Well I don’t know what’s wrong with the Twitter links. The whole point of this post was to get a visual of the timeline where you would not have to click every Twitter link

You realize at least 3 of those guys stay at a&m if jumbo doesn't get fired?

That's why lsu has a new defensive staff.

The incompetency of the former defensive staff was mind boggling

I just can’t let the Matt House situation go. It’s not enough to just have him away from our program forever. I never want him to find work again, at any level.

Do you think there will be no coaches getting fired this winter?

That’s part of the game

Some will get fired, some will leave for better gigs, etc

He can be a DC in the SEC again if he does like his second year here.

Down to #13 on 247 and #14 on ON3

We finished as On3's #4.

Big time melter from last year

Top 5 class is basically impossible at this point. Even if we shoot the moon with both of the big remaining Louisiana kids plus both duncanville kids plus this ole miss flip plus another surprise plus keep every single current commit, that puts our class score at a number that would’ve been like 8th or 9th or 10th last year.

Ship has sailed on a top 5 class. Most likely scenario we land like 12th

So...which school is getting top corners and receivers in this class, but is likely to fire their coach?

You realize that one of those you mention 5 star DT Dom McKinley flipped knowing he didn’t have a DLine coach?

And with the probability, as you say, that we were about to fire the entire defensive staff

While also being a huge position of need

I believe the saying is actually “mind bottling”.

by no means do I think it happens because i have them in my preseason title game prediction, but if Ryan Day loses to Michigan a 4th straight year….. that could get interesting.

I agree with your overall message and point. Great job.
That said, it's not as black and white as the post suggests. We all know the TAM debacle helped tremendously. Can't be denied. They have a good year and we are having a whole other conversation. Then you have the back stories as to how Jackson, Woodland, Causey and others ended up in our class. They were 2nd, 3rd even 4th man up. Sure there was overreaction but the worry was warranted outside the vacuum of who signed where. Marathon not a sprint. Marathons come with more trepidation.
This class is far ahead of last years pace and still has concerns. CB and WR at the moment. If CB goes the way of last cycle you will see "melting" as some call it. Others call it recognizing failure.

Last year was an anomaly with Dumbo getting fired. We were sucking hind tit over much of the Summer and finally got things turned around.

As fanva states, we are in much better shape (at least so far) than we were last year. aTm sort of rescued our asses to say the least. Hey, I'm delighted and as always, geaux tigers...
