But he said rest easy, I would be happy !!"

I'm glad to hear that everyone is pleased with the hires to date. The suspense is killing me though! That being said, I really liked the way this whole situation has been handled. I think Miles has done an outstanding job with the process. I can't wait for announcement day.

I detect sarcasm, maybe not? I am only trying to confirm the rumors that after the Bowl game, big news is coming regarding the DC. Still no names.

We still have to speculate, but bottom line, we apparently aren't waiting on Walker, it has to be Chavis, because "it's secured" already.

My Post is legit, my LSU buddy is somewhat connected, he has played Golf with Alleva a few times when he was the AD at Duke, he exchanges Blackberry emails fairly often, he has been to Alleva LSU office, had dinner etc.

This is pretty much my only source I can contribute from time to time.. I realize I have not added much to what we didn't already think we knew.

Anyways

Still good stuff as it firms up what most of us had already speculated.

Hope we all need a smoke after we hear the news...

If he said you would be "happy" ...then i cant imagine it's just Chavis that would make you happy. Do you think it means coach O as DL coach also ....kinda like all the other speculation?

Or would you be "happy" with just Chavis and some other guys?

sorry...just trying to figure out how this is more info than any of the hundreds of other things ive read...

Coache(s) plural!

the DC is suppose to be the headliner, although Coach O seems to steal the show around here

you didnt answer the question. He said that YOU would be "happy". So WHO would make you "happy" other than Chavis? Sorry I wasnt more specific...

i figured something to that effect..LSU was being way too calm/collected even though people everywhere were pushing for them to make a hire..when the rumors started circulating with all of the names of people LSU contacted officially and unofficially, i figured we were in "stealth mode". when miles refused to specuate much on the subject in the weeks following, and would only say they'll make their changes AFTER the bowl game, i felt it was probably done, or close to it.

I just quoted my LSU buddies email exaclty as he typed it..

Alleva told my buddy, that he would be happy.

he spoke by phone with Alleva

What would make me happy?

Chavis or Walker, plus O, got to have the O!

BTW: a follow up email (just now):

"He sounded excited we had done well for the future."

Sorry Apex..got confused..thought your friend was telling you that "YOU" would be happy. Anyhow..was just messing with you to extract as much info as possible...

Ive had faith in coach Miles all along. He seems like a guy that just wants results and when he doesnt get the desired results will do what a good CEO would do..and that's get the right people in there. Ya..he made a mistake with the co-dc thing..but he isnt a defensive mind and I think he was convinced by several people including Pelini himself that Malvetto could continue implementing his D. Oh well..he learned a lesson and is correcting a mistake. It happens.

I agree and I admire the way he has handled this. He never threw his assistants under the bus but did what was needed to right the situation. :fearthehat:

with Willis staying at Auburn, Walker looking into NM, and what Alleva has said leads me to believe its Chavis.
