Should we fear a cashless society or support it?

Just a question. I understand liberty and anonymity are important l, but doesn't that impact those less willing to follow th3 law more than the average joe?

I hear non stop about rich and tax loopholes. At least you know where their money is going. What about all the people not reporting anything that would rather go dump 1000s into gambling instead of paying their fair share?

The ultimate goal-- to me is to incentivize people to want to spend less on tax programs. Also, what about all the illegal immigration right now?

Does anyone really think that we will be pulling out little pieces of paper to buy things in a hundred years?

No on the cashless society, we need to keep cash around. Just look at what Canada did to those that disagreed with policy, they electronically put a hold on all bank accounts. If a disaster strikes and the internet/power is off you would still have cash.

Govt should only regulate currency, not control it

Any liberty surrendered to the federal government will never be relinquished. The possible consequences of CBDC aren't worth any positives. We need less federal government in our lives, not more. Allowing the federal government to control how much money I spend and on what I spend it on is out of the question. A decent federal government following the principles of liberty and freedom would not desire to have such control over its citizens.

Besides, they control how my tax dollars are spent. They need to keep their dirty hands off my personal money.

That’s a great question!

If humanity overcomes its penchant for destruction and technology is allowed to flourish under the governance of Western culture I will say no.

I think it’s more plausible that a hundred years from now will look more like 674 AD and our miserable descendants will be under a feudal system of local minted coinage by barons.

I have about $25 in my wallet. The rest of my money is digital currency. It's just numbers in computer banking systems.

How's that really different? I'm not for or against digital currency. I'm pretty ignorant on it all.

To be clear Central Bank Digital Currencies will be the end of freedom as we know it.

Decentralized ones on the other hand are a huge curb on government power and censorship. Which is why the Democrats hate crypto.

States have a constitutional right to make gold and silver bullion legal tender. Some have already done so.

I can see a future of 2 parallel systems, one digital, the other gold and silver.

11 states make gold legal tender

Once cash is no longer accepted anywhere or outlawed the government completely owns you. They can shut you down at any time from making any purchases.

They also borrow tons in our name which is a big part of their magic money inflaming inflation.

You're coming up with excuses to punish the innocent.

So, because a few people are assholes you want to strip away the freedom of everyone?

This makes no sense.

Also, what about all the illegal immigration right now?

Secure the border and stop giving out free stuff.

It's obvious you don't care about freedom. You want to punish innocent people and strip away rights. That makes you a piece of garbage.

Every bit of cash I have reads, “This note is legal tender for ALL debts, public and private.” I’m going to stick with this when I want to pay cash somewhere.

This is where "Zero Trust" mandatory digital ID to access the web will come in. Your crypto is worthless if you can't access it, thus total control will be the price you pay to do so.

Always fear attempts to control your money… always fight to keep paper money as legal tender.
