My neighbor tells me yesterday that he bought $700 worth of fireworks for tonight. Is that normal? Seems like a waste. Luckily he lives a few houses down from me. The not normal thing in my opinion is how they never clean up and leave their fireworks shite in the street and in other people's yard.

Luckily, it's not your money. So who cares?

Fireworks are fine. $700 of fireworks is a lot.

But your neighbor not cleaning up after themselves is trashy. Some people are not concerned about how things affect others.

700 sounds like a lot but some of the large fountains are like 50-150 each. The quality mortars are like 100 or more.

Not picking up your trash is fricked up

Someone in the town where I live burned a good part of their house, along with a car (Humvee), shooting fireworks this week. Imagine explaining that to your insurance agent. Since fireworks are illegal in the city limits, I could see insurance balking at paying anything at all.

There’s always more shenanigans in the back of the trailer park

Anyone that pays $700 for fireworks should never be allowed to complain about the price of groceries. Ever.

When money gets tight, fireworks should be the first item that gets cut.

$700 seems like a lot, but is easy enough to do. We spend a fraction of that and everyone in attendance is satisfied.

This year there was a declaration by the man of the house that we would not spend the money, but when the tents and giant inflatable gorillas appeared around town, his willpower waned. We will be adding to the general cacophony in our ‘hood as usual. (And picking up our trash.)

My dad was born to haggle with the fireworks stand guy, it was one of his favorite things to do.

His eyes would glaze over like some wild animal when they confronted each other.

He would spend an hour going back and forth then load the truck up with about $500.00 worth and in about 30 minutes we would shoot all of them up.

Every Christmas morning through my youth my stocking was stuffed to the brim with fireworks .
