Texas Am vs Texas Bidding war in the baseball portal.

Will be tough to pull anyone either of these teams wants in the baseball portal. Sounds like their respective boosters are both fired up about this.

They can bid all they want.....the current aggie players don't want to play for schloss and they (the aggies) don't have a coach.

All I’m saying is money talks. And they got money and likely will be putting a lot up due to the situation at hand. I don’t think it last, but will be this year

Schloss going to texas is perfect timing for us, at least in the near future.
Just as aggie was gaining traction as a program, this will surely set them back.
texas will benefit but not immediatly. Even with transfers it's gonna take a little time to get the program to an elite level. I also think some guys won't want to play for a coach that made the move the way Schloss did.

Does Texas have anyone worth a look? They dont have an ex coach to follow and could be sour if Schloss brings his guy over for the same position.

I don't think that's correct. It's open for 30 days for teams after a coaching change. So for LSU, no players can leave after July 2. For Texas, it would be 30 days from Monday and for Texas A&M it would be 30 days from Tuesday.

You want to win a national championship you come to LSU we back that shite up unlike these pussies from Texas all they give a shite about is money! And look at schloss he been been doing it for 30 years and what does he have to show not a damn thing the dude wanted the lsu job but couldn’t get it ! If y’all can’t see that A&M grossly overstates how much money they have at this point then I’m not sure what to tell you. They lost their coach to Texas, he apparently left partially because they weren’t putting money into projects that were promised, etc. If they had anywhere near the money they pretend to have they wouldn’t have let their coach even consider going to Texas of all places

You might be right, but everything that has come out since Schloss left sounds like A&M could have countered the offer but it wouldn’t have mattered. Either way, it’s a terrible look for Trev Alberts and the university president. Alberts took the job and immediately laid off 30 something AD employees, (seemingly preparing for the student-athlete revenue sharing) including several baseball staffers without consulting with Schloss, which obviously pissed him off.

Their last few recruiting classes have included:
2023 - 2 Top 100 players, 3 Top 150 players
2022 - 0 Top 100 players, 1 Top 150 player

Their top 2 hitters in terms of batting average from the portal this past season were from Penn and Columbia...I dont think they were laying down much money to grab those 2. And before you bring up Montgomery, keep in mind they had a huge connection there in his former hitting coach who lived there and thats the reason he went there.
