Main Card
Alex Pereira (c) (-165) vs. Jiri Prochazka (+140) 2 for the UFC light heavyweight title
Brian Ortega (+120) vs. Diego Lopes (-145); Featherweights
Anthony Smith (+115) vs. Roman Dolidze (-140); Light Heavyweights
Marya Bueno Silva (-115) vs. Macy Chiasson (-105); Bantamweights
Ian Machado Garry (-135) vs. Michael "Venom" Page (+110); Welterweights

Prelims
Joe Pyfer (-300) vs. Marc-Andre Barriault (+240); Middleweights
Cub Swanson (+200) vs. Andre Fili (-250); Featherweights
Charles Jourdain (-125) vs. Jean Silva (+105); Featherweights
Payton Talbott (-2000) vs. Yanis Ghemmouri (+950); Bantamweights

Early Prelims
Michelle Waterson-Gomez (+150) vs. Gillian Robertson (-185); Strawweights
Andrei Arlovski (+200) vs. Martin Buday (-250); Heavyweights
Rei Tsuruya (-450) vs. Carlos Hernandez (+340); Flyweights
Ricky Simon (-225) vs. Vinicius Oliveira (+185); Bantamweights

Alot of changes for this card but I think the final product is better than what was originally planned with Conor.

Poatan vs Jiri should be another great matchup. lopes vs ortega is a great matchup. ortega hadnt really been active but had a great win in mexico city early in the year. lopes has been killing it with 3 1st round finishes in a row, but hasnt faced this level of competition yet.

I really like the MVP vs Ian Garry matchup. outside of shavkat there are no real contenders to jump into a title shot against winner of belal/edwards. I think either guy can get themself into the talks with a big win.

undercard has a few decent scraps. swanson vs fili should be good, talbott has alot of people talking about him being the future. I think simon vs oliveira could be a fight of the night type fight.

Damn... Arlovski must just love fighting or is totally broke. My man isn't even the headliner for the early Prelims.

Karate Hottie also really moved down the card recently.

UFC posted their whole LHW champion history. Love when they do these. Man, the early 2000s of Chuck, Tito, and Randy were the days before Bones came along and started dominating. That shogun KO of machida also had me going nuts in my old college apt

I enjoyed that. Plenty of stuff I forgot. I always thought Vitor cut Randy accidentally, never remembered it being from a glancing and intentional shot.

Chuck was my guy. The reason I started following UFC. It hurt bad when Rampage slept him. He was 37 by then though and had 4 title defenses so it was only a matter of time

LHW kind of been crappy for a while.

I wish khalil roundtree didnt get hurt. I think he would have dusted hill and probably been in title contention. ufc seems to hate ankalaev.

Comparing a Fight Week card nowadays to 10-15 years ago is depressing.

I don’t know.

This is from 10 years ago and I don’t specifically remember the card but doesn’t seem better than this upcoming card.

Middleweight Chris Weidman (c) def. Lyoto Machida Decision (unanimous) (49–45, 48–47, 49–46) 5 5:00 [a]

Women's Bantamweight Ronda Rousey (c) def. Alexis Davis KO (punches) 1 0:16 [b]

Middleweight Uriah Hall def. Thiago Santos Decision (unanimous) (29–28, 29–28, 29–28) 3 5:00

Bantamweight Russell Doane def. Marcus Brimage Decision (split) (29–28, 28–29, 30–27) 3 5:00

I think the biggest difference is back then there was maybe 2 big ppv’s every 1 or 2 months and a free event maybe once a month. So the PPVs felt so huge. Not that they don’t feel that way now, but you weren’t getting fights every single weekend back then like now. Remember those random Wednesday night fight nights on spike and fuel tv? Lol

The quality of fights I think is better now, though. You had a whole lot more lay and pray wrestling matches back then. Fighters are much more well rounded now. I’m not sure we see another 7+ year dominant champ again like GSP and Silva back then with all the talent there is now

Wish I could fly out to Vegas for Jiri Poatan.

Protect your legs this time Jiri! Can’t wait for that fight, Jiri is my favorite fighter. Feel like Ankalaev has to get a shot at Poatan if he wins again and they do a trilogy if Jiri wins. Jiri can definitely win, just needs to be smarter.

Great card overall too.

yeah for sure.the roster was probably half the size.

not to mention we just had a ton of stacked ppv. 298,299,300 all super stacked. 300 had like 11 or 12 former or current champs. this past fight night was stacked and now they have the sphere once in a lifetime show to fill and ufc 304 in england taking the big names from that side of the world and 305 tacking the big names from oceania. business is booming for the UFC.

If Jiri pulls this one out the 3rd fight will be MASSIVE. Will be locked in Saturday night, rooting for Ortega also.

Thoughts on future fights- Will probably throw a fight night for 304 Edwards vs Belal, should be a fun card in England. Belal isn’t the most entertaining fighter but he’s still legit. And super pumped for the Abu Dhabi fight night August 3rd. Sand man vs Umar is a banger and you have the return of Nick Diaz.

Any thoughts on who will fight at the Sphere? It’s Mexican fight week so has to be your big Mexican fighters I would think

No I didn’t think it was worth it with the Conor prices. I thought about going last minute when the card got rearranged and prices went normal then decided I would go to the Paul vs Perry fight instead. I have been to Vegas so much wanted to check out Tampa for a weekend.

Plus I still want to go to the sphere show assuming the tickets are not gonna be like 2k each or something crazy.
