Woke up this am randomly thinking about this. I’d either have to go with Fantasy by Aldo Nova or Cult of Personality by Living Colour.

Relax ~ Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I managed a store in newly opened East Towne Mall in Knoxville. A girl that worked at the record store a few doors down from me would play this song in her RX-7 with the hatch raised after we got off work.

Is Living Colour really a one hit wonder? Other than Cult of Personality from their debut record, Glamour Boys and Open Letter (To A Landlord) both charted in the Billboard 100. They still put out records and tour today. I saw them in 1991 and again in 2015.

They were not a one hit wonder.
Rick Springfield arguably was, so Jesse’s Girl.
I know he had some other minor hits.

Seriously?
He had 4 other Top 10 hits besides Jessie’s Girl.

Probably should’ve researched that. I know those songs, but didn’t realize they hit the top 10.

You should not be allowed to post in the Music board. Devo had several “hits” and countless songs are still used today in films and tv. They had an impressive run of about 4 very solid albums.

That album was good.

Springfield had 9 Top 20 songs and another 8 that were Top 40.
In fact he had a #14 song in 1972.
Hardly a one hit wonder.

Devo, while a classic and influential group, only had song break the Top 40. Working In A Coal Mine got to 43. Theme from Doctor Detroit got to 59. Nothing else ever entered the Top 100.
So yes, even though the group has had more influence than many groups with multiple hits, they only had one quantifiable hit.

UK charts don’t count? Thats why I said y’all have a lot to learn. Google that like you did your previous comment. There are more to “hits” than Kassie Kassum’s Top 40/ US Billboards.
Generally speaking, a “One Hot Wonder” is defined as having only one Top 40 on the Billboard HOT 100. Some will expand this to a singular song which defines an artist even if other songs have reached the Top 40 (a good example is Tommy Tutone. He actually has had 2 Top 40 hits but one is so well known as it eclipses the other. Usually when people primarily in the US are talking about One Hit artists, they are referring to US charts. If one wishes to expand to the U.K., why not expand to Australia or Canada? (In the case of Devo, they never had a Top 40 in the U.K. so I’m not sure your point there. They did have a number 8 in New Zealand… should we count that too?).
And I said “quantifiable”. If one wants to try to quantify this, there needs to be some standard. If not, then anyone can say just about any group had more “hits” than they actually did simply because the songs are hits to them.
And if you use Google as you claim, you could spell Casey Kasem’s name correctly…

Cool to have a personal memory. This song only reminds me of the scene in "Body Double".
