I treated myself to an early birthday gift. Not sure if anyone else has been eyeing these up but I jumped on them for this price. Stage 1 - $200 set on Woot. It’s an Amazon company if you aren’t familiar with them.
They are on sale again. New link below. Think the sale ends today 9/30

Anyone have a review on the powerblock bench?

I just ordered a set of the stage one. 777, I assume its a great value at $200?
I almost ordered a stage 2 expansion as well. Do yall have the expansion? Reviews?

I use these at home and have had them for years. The shape makes some movements a little awkward, and it's kind of a pain to change weight in less than 10lb increments. Still love them for the value and small footprint.

i have the stage 2 and 3 expansion packs and the stage 4 which requires different handles
i have the original urethane ones they dont make anymore but are very similar to the pro exp. only downside about the urethane is the plates are thicker than the steel ones
i have the expansion packs to be able to go up to 125 lbs.
0-90 lbs its very easy and quick to change. I would prefer the metal adjustment piece over the plastic one that i have. but still really easy.
if its 10 lbs increments you just remove the pin and put it in correct slot. for 5lbs and 2.5lb you remove the pin, pull the handle and remove 1 or both of the 2.5lb adder weights. I have the stand so it has a slot for the adder weights to go between.
I have used them for over a decade. I love them. i want to get the knurled handles here soon. They have lasted and i sit them down hard all the time when done benching. for home use it has lifetime warranty and they will replace the broken plates for the cost of shipping
they can get a little long in the upper level weights because of the thicker urethane plates mine have. also having to change handles to go above 90 is pain and the increments above 90lbs are a little weird but overall i love them. would only switch for the rep peppin dumbbells but i dont wanna drop a grand+ on something i already have
only exercise i cant do with them is overhead two hand tricep extension and pullovers. pullovers work but have to kind of change how you hold them. for the tricep extension i use bands on bottom of power rack or i use KBs or i do 1 hand.

looking at the link, that is the exp model with the steel plates, last years model. for $400 for the whole 0-90 stage 1/2/3 kit, that is an awesome deal. the expansion kits for this one are half the price on the sale vs direct from powerblock
they are essentially the same as the elite usa 90 for half the price and are actually a little nicer. hell of a deal.
you can get the knurled handle through PB or one of the other guys that make them.

Amazon owns Woot. It doesn’t get more real. I’d been watching these for a while. Lowest price I’ve ever seen.

here are a couple places you can get the knurled handles, can also call/email powerblock and ask if they have them for that model, prolly cheapest route

frick it, I got the stage two expansion to go with it. Only exercises I cant do heavy with that would be bent over rows or chest presses, and kinda shoulder press too, but with 70, I can still get one hell of a workout, just wouldnt be a heavy workout.

Man that 30mm average Joe grip is sweet, thanks for sharing. I’m glad it wasn’t a big sale, I’ve already spent enough today.

Damn you 777...I went with the blue one....

What's so good about the knurled handles, other than being able to use the stage 4 extension? Is it just a preference thing?
Posted on 6/12/24 at 4:34 pm to Homey the Clown
just grabbed the base set and extension up to 70lbs. thanks for posting this link/deal

stage 4 is something totally different, i dont think the ones on sale have a stage 4, i believe the highest they can go is 90lbs
the knurled handles are just a preference thing and make them feel like real dumbbells. i have had mine for a decade and dont have them but will be buying soon. its simply a feel thing.

I assumed as much.
I dont have the space for a home gym, however I do have the space for a fold up bench and set of these dumbbells. It really is impressive the amount of exercises you can do with a set of adjustable dumbbells that go up to 90 or even just 70, and an adjustable bench.
I'm pretty pumped about this purchase. Now I need to find a decently priced adjustable bench.
