They have a walk in safe in the basement of the State Palace. Not for nothing but it was once controlled thorugh the 1970s by some Italian businessmen. One of them tried to turn into a club and ruined a lot of the interior in the process.

The music in the 1990s stopped when the folks running it at that point were indicted on federal charges under the crackhouse law.

I saw Pantera/Sepultura/Prong in the 90s and Tool and STP separately on their 1st album tours.
And then late 90s enjoyed a lot of MDMA there, awesome times!

Proper people are better than some of the other urbex on yt. I'm glad they did this one. For the palace being where it is I would think it might be harder to get into than some places they've been. The front door was not what I was expecting for entry , neither was using the generator. The last time I was there in the 90s I kinda remember the gates so people couldn't go up and wander ( I like to wander;) Who owns it now?

Dang. If I still lived in LA, and could gear myself up to stay out past midnight This would be cool. Some legendary DJs that used to be SPT regulars. I used to go often back around 2001-2002, in the latter years of operation. Wild wild times.
