Yes I’m gonna go through every make and model! ha.

Anyone run a ZX 200 with a SHO 200?
What are your likes/dislikes about boat motor or trailer? Thanks gang!

I ran a 2008 with the hpdi 200. It's a great fishing boat imo. It's heavy, sturdy, fishes well and drives just as good.. I swapped ecus to a 225 and got some cup added to prop and gained 5mph.

As with many boats though lids did let some water in and those ez trailers at the time were not that great. Also hear a lot of complaints about stitches coming out seats though.

I run a ZX 250 with 250 Yamaha VMax series 2. Mine is a 2009 but it’s paid for, like my truck. I will be running both long as I can. The boat has been solid for years and we fish a lot, can’t remember replacing anything major. But I keep it clean and maintain everything. I did have a 4 bank Minn Kota charger go out when it got down to 10 degrees last winter, along with a few blue top batteries.

Not really a huge fan of the trailer right now, looks flimsy. Salesman did tell me the hubs are “bulletproof” for roughly 10 years.

If I decide to get this boat I’ll keep an eye out for the stitching.

Sounds like the Vault hubs. I have on my rig. They have been pretty damn good.

What year model? I ran a 2016 ZX 250 with a 250 Sho. It was great. I traded up to a 21' FXR this year. It will be my last boat.

I also owned a 20' I Class before the ZX 250. Among the first things I noticed moving from the I Class to the ZX was the slight bow lift to plane of the ZX. The bow on old I Class upon acceleration really picked way up before planing off. By 2016 they had engineered that out.

I had some fail so many times I ended up replacing them with regular grease. The guy who did it said he's lost count of how many he has had to replace, especially on Rangers.

Rangers don’t have vault hubs. That’s what I thought first when I got them. They had the first version of liquid filled ones and they were horrible.

Those were 100% Vault hubs.

Ok my mistake then.

You talking about the oil bath hubs or the hybrid grease ones? I know they use to use an oil bath liquid oil and they were well known for their failures. I spoke to Mike Gerald himself about the ones I currently run since 2011 and they have been flawless. He provided me with the education on the ones I use. It’s a solid grease in a sealed hub. No maintenance for 10 years.

Lot of discussion here about the trailer. You don't buy the trailer and take the boat that comes along with it. You buy the boat and get the trailer. Modify if you have to.

I had a 2008 ZX200 w/HPDI 200. Was a very good boat, just not very fast. Traded for 2015 ZX225 w/SHO 225. Was much faster, by 12mph. Again, was very stable fishing platform...

lol, my heart has always been with a pantera classic just cause I like the front deck layout a lot!

I’m eyeing one on-line right now and it’s still an option.

The boat stock ran 70mph solo. Once I added gear and then dual power poles it dropped to 67mph. Add tournament buddy, Livewell, 50 gal gas 63mph. That's when I added the Ecu upgrade and prop work. It got me up to 72mph solo. And it was stable as can be. No need to drive the wheel. Skeeters are not an 80mph boat.
