52 years old, desk jockey, travel a lot and generally fell into a bad lifestyle in my 40's while trying to make bank.

yo yo dieted a few times where I would lose and gain back - tried P90x (worked), caveman, paleo, Mediterranean diet -you name it.

Started Monjauro last fall, have dropped 40lbs (272-230).

Started at 2.5/mg dose and worked up in increments and now at 15/mg dose.

I've had really no side effects, I take on Friday and maybe on Sunday stomach is a bit upset.

It stopped cravings in its tracks, I'm rarely hungry and don't even think about food.

My energy is up, I just feel better, still losing - hoping to get under 210 (I'm 6'2) and slowly started working into more strength training.

My employer switched insurance companies in January, first insurance company no issues - new provider was a pain in the arse for several months. Rejecting Monjauro, but approving Zepbound when it became available - after multiple rounds of preapproval. I had to pay out of pocket a couple of times, but generally its a $35 co-pay.

In general, very happy with results so far.

Good job baw. Keep it up My biggest regret was not weight lifting sooner so that would be my advice. I’m playing catch up but it’s going pretty good so far.

I keep thinking about getting on it. I need to lose about 30 to get my beer gut gone, but I worry it will screw up my weight lifting.

If will not effect your lifting/gains if you intake adequate calories and protein.

How long did you take to start resistance training? Asking bc I started ozempic last week and wondering how soon I should start doing weights again

I’ve been on tirzepatide/MJ for 15 months. The first 6 months or so I did not lift, just cardio and strict calorie restriction. I lost allot of much needed weight. But I’m sure I could’ve prevented a lot of lean mass loss if I had done lifting from the get go. But as a very out of shape fat arse, the gym and lifting wasn’t even part of the plan. I just wanted to drop pounds asap. All in all, I’m stil very satisfied with my results but my body recomp would probably be much easier right now if I had lifted earlier. Which is why I tell anyone who ask to start lifting asap and keep protein intake up.

immediately if you want real results. sure you can drop tons of fat but many lose lots of lean mass due to not monitoring protein and not lifting. Thats a mistake. Start tracking protein immediately and start lifting immediately

if you do not know where to start, stronglifts is a good place. you can learn the lifts from youtube, mark rippetoe is prolly best for that.

Just started tonight - I’m going to lift from the get go and be super strick with my diet and water intake - I’ve got to get my numbers down - if weight loss is a result then great. But this is a health decision for me.

Great to hear.

Do you notice it impacting any other potential addictive type behaviors (drinking, etc.)?

Any impact on libido?

Has all the enjoyment been taken out of food or do you still enjoy just with smaller portions?

Has it taken away your taste for any particular foods?

Libido is fine, energy is up. I still enjoy food and splurge from time to time.

I can’t eat as much and significant drop in snacking between meals (as in none). I can so no much easier to temptation. I don’t count calories or anything.

I've been on Tirzepatide for 13 weeks now and have lost 25lbs. Starting weight was 246, current weight 221. Goal is to get to 195.

I've had very limited side effects. The main one is I feel tired a little bit more on day 2-3 after the shot than usual.

Ive continued to lift weights the entire time, and I don't count calories or anything. I try to keep my protein and hydration up. I don't eat near as much as I used to. Even if I feel very hungry, I get full quick.

I just started week 15 of Mounjaro. Started at 2.5mg and I'm still on 5mg. Thinking of going up a dose next round. My starting weight was 338 (freaking embarrassing). Down to 271lbs. Been lifting 3 days a week with no cardio. I'm trying to get a least 200g of protein/day. Eating chicken breast, tuna, filet steaks like crazy. Have unfortunately had pretty bad stomach issues. Sulfur burps, constipation followed by diarrhea. It's worth it just due to people who don't see me every day are shocked when they do see me about the weight loss. What's the most eye opening to me is going to the hardware store and pick up a 50lb sack of something and think I was carrying that around. My initial goal is 225lb but might try to keep going after that.

I just started on monjauro 2.5 three weeks ago. Started at 295. Down 4 pounds. Since my divorce in 2019 I’m down 40 pounds. Never realized how depressed I was and still kind of am. I got hurt on the job in 2014 with my back and can’t be as active as I used to be or want to be and I’m tired of it.

I was 250 lbs in November 2023. I’m only 5’6”. I had Non-Alcholic Fatty Liver, pre-Diabetic, high cholesterol, low-testosterone. I was a sugar-addict, it’s how I dealt with my stress. I own my own business and have 30 employees and it’s great but since Covid it’s been so stressful. I was already heavy (215) from being a desk jockey. Spend my days looking at spread sheets and emails!

I did a 2-week sugar detox to start Dec 2023. This was the hardest thing I’d ever done. I was like a crack addict in a rehab! doc put me on Mounjaro (5mg) in mid-December. I’m still on 5mg today and I’m down to 185. All my numbers are now in check. I actually take the shot every 10days now instead of weekly. I do resistance and weight work at home in the mornings to keep my strength up. It’s crazy how my taste buds are totally different now. Eat foods I never liked. Drink unsweet tea w/ no sweeteners, when I do eat a dessert it can’t be very sweet or rich.

I’m not sure how this journey ends buts so far it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
