I’m glad that the full band will be there, but it sucks that it will count as the one full band trip they are allowed per season (outside of the SECCG or playoffs). Other schools send their full bands to multiple road games.

LSU COULD take the full band to every away game if they wanted to.

I am shocked that the full band is going to Vegas. No such thing happened at Green Bay (2016) or Pasadena (2021). The FULL band is flying to Las Vegas? I wonder if the game sponsors are paying for that?

Is that confirmed full band? That's pretty amazing if so. They never would have done that when I was there

Taking the 55 member band to Wisconsin was a disgrace

That was the best football trip I had ever been on other than the actual game. Was an amazing experience

UPDATE:

Talking w/ my TGBFTL wife (no pics) she says that they will send a band for Kickoff games (so CFA Kickoff, Aflac Kickoff, Camping World Kickoff, etc.) Being that this is the Vegas Kickoff Classic, we should have a full band.

I’m not sure when they starting limiting Tiger Band to one full band trip during the regular season. It wasn’t always that way.

With the new CFP format, I don’t see us sending the full band to every playoff game. In 2019, the full band went to 4 games away from Tiger Stadium, that includes the CFP games. That’s the most that I can recall in recent memory.

Auburn goes full band to most of their away games. Even though I attended and graduated many years ago, I was always impressed with the Auburn band. They are a very big band and they sound good. When I was a junior at LSU, the network, ABC had a contest to see what band was the best band when the games were televised by ABC. Ole Miss had a great band that year and they were big and loud. Being in Tiger Stadium, with the game being televised the Ole Miss band put on a very impressive show. They had Popeye eating a can of spinach and he transformed into a muscular guy. LSU won the contest and was declared the All American band. I can't think of any band that put out a terrible performance. Back in those days the majority of college bands were big and loud. The only band that I did not like was Kentucky. Their band was kind of small and most LSU fans could barely hear them. LSU back in those days was great. OLE MISS was a very big rival game. They even had a record that someone sang and it was a song about Archie Who at LSU. They had panty raids and they would set fire to the trash cans. LSU started to punish students if they were caught by cops at a panty raid. The Ole Mjiss game was that Saturday night and the punishment the school gave to offenders was they had to sit in jail, miss the Ole Miss game and be released at six the next morning. My roommate was caught and to this day, he refuses to talk about it. He was really pissed off that he missed that game.

It's infuriating but certainly not surprising, what with the current LSU Athletic Department "Deemphasis" of Tiger Band during games in PIMger Stadium.

WHY the "Delicate Genius's" in the AD are trying to turn LSU games into an NFL game is completely and totally a mystery to many of us.

It wad definitely....unique. I made the trip and stayed in Appleton, which might have been where the team stayed now that I think about it.

Anyway, I remember the 45 minute drive to the stadium was through nothing but miles of dairy land. It was quite pleasant, but not much to see.

Then you get to this little town called Green Bay that resembled something like St. Francisville, and suddenly out of absolutely nowhere, a stadium appears.

Who pays for the band's travel to games?

I'm confused as to why my question got down votes? Especially since the answer has a DIRECT impact on how many games the full band can attend.

Love the band and everything but flying 325 people to Vegas and back, and likely having to get hotel rooms for a night in fricking Vegas of all places is straight up retarded from a money standpoint.
