Phil McGroin

To discuss a fatal shooting. Apologies for referencing Facebook and posting an AL.com article, but this one is good.

I gave up reading the article, what the hell is this all about? There a shooting, green research company over something, fake cop name, etc…

Another shittily put together article by AL.com with a headline that will give you a stroke trying to understand what it means. Nothing new.

Summary:
The Decatur City Council is debating whether an independent review of the Decatur Police Department (DPD) by Green Research & Technology should include an examination of policies and procedures. This follows the revelation that Lt. Joe Renshaw used a fake Facebook account named "Phil McGroin" to discuss the fatal shooting of Steve Perkins by former officer Mac Marquette. Council President Jacob Ladner supports a comprehensive review, while Councilman Billy Jackson is more concerned with DPD's adherence to existing policies. The council intends for the review's findings to be public, with some redactions for legal reasons. Mayor Tab Bowling supports the review and will meet with the reviewing firm to discuss the scope of their work.
