The call was he slid outside of the bag and hooked to catch the corner of it.

They are saying he slid to the right of the bag and not centered.

Stupid, but that’s what they are sticking with

Horse shite , bullshite.

What pisses me off more is the team acts like it wasn't a bad call.

The rule says you have to slide straight into second base. Milazzo was not technically straight into second base.

That same slide happens 100 times over the course of the year and it gets called once.

Milazzo had absolutely no effect on the UNC infielder.

The camera isn’t straight down the line Lester. It wasn’t out of the “baseline.” His foot hit the center of the bag.

I hope I don’t even get to see them reach second again, but if they do slide into second…I can’t wait to see how the kid slides.

So as a baserunner, what are you supposed to do? Slow down to a trot to make sure you’re gnat’s arse, balls on dead center on the bag? To the millimeter?

The game moves a little bit faster than that.

If he wasn't directly in to second base then what was he?

On the outfield side of it, picture above shows it pretty clear.

He didn;t slide into the bag. He curled around it and yes his foot ended up in or near the middle of the bag

Yeah and the rule defines “directly into the base” as the entire body (feet, legs, trunk, arms) being in a straight line between the bases.
