Speaker Johnson had the power to stop all the lawfare in NYC.

Now they all want to act outraged? They all knew this was happening and let it happen.

Do tell! What power should he have wielded?

He could close the DOJ?
Grow up and think.
Grow up and think.

I think this is where he suggests that Johnson has the ability to convince 7 of the 10 Republican House Members and every other GOP house member to vote to stop all federal funding to New York.
5 Months before those 10 GPP House members face election from New York voters.

Johnson lost all hope after passing the funding bill and sending money to Ukraine. He is a huge disappointment.

He's the Speaker, he had things available to him that did not require him to persuade these members from NY.

Votes had nothing to do with it. He had the power to not bring the mini omnibus bill to the floor. The GOPe was so terrified of shutting down the government they would have agreed to some carve outs defunding this sham.

I'm not challenging you here - I ask honestly because I don't know... what are the things?
I hate that he's from Louisiana, given a huge stage to be a hero for the America First folks, and here we are. It's really disappointing. He's not even worthy of standing in the shadow of our founding fathers.

What is this magical power you speak of? How, exactly, would it have worked?

Nope.
Speaker of the house is a position in the legislative branch, not the executive. While he has some power to set House rules, he can't do anything that impacts anyone outside the house of representatives without a majority vote.
Right now there are 217 Republicans and 213 Democrats in the house. that means the GOP can only lose 3 members of their caucus and still be able to win a majority vote. That's assuming they just don't vote. If they actively vote the other way, they can only lose 1.
There are 10 GOP house members from New York. The only way the Speaker can do ANYTHING related to NY is to have the support of 7 of those 10 Reps.

How would that have stopped a state prosecution?

Agreed. Hard for me to get past that one. Same feeling regarding Trump supporting that NOT America first shite.
Honestly, RFK talks more about the actual issues and solutions, rather than the same ole shite from Dems and Republicans.
"Trump bad" vs "Biden bad" ALL of this shite is really old.

If he did that, he'd probably cost the GOP control of the house.
But you're right that he could do that. Shutting down the government on the eve of an election is something he could do. But I think you're underestimating the impact that would have come election day.
There's a reason neither side tries to force a government shutdown anywhere near election day. Every shutdown that lasted more than 3 days happened in an odd numbered year (meaning no house elections that year).
It also wouldn't target NY more than any other state.

100%, but I wonder which agency captured him and how long ago.

He could have specifically targeted the DOJ and NY or anything enabling this sham.
Basically tell Hochul you are not getting any federal money until to rein in your AG and DA's.
No different than telling Louisiana to raise the drinking age or you get no money.
